Data Scientist

Role Description

We are looking to expand our Analytics team with a data scientist to help create data-driven internal solutions for the Illuvium DAO. This involves creating models for balancing our games, implementing complex AI for our players to play against and communicating creative new insights to internal stakeholders

About Illuvium

Illuvium Labs is an independent game development studio based in Sydney, Australia. We develop blockchain based games for the Illuvium DAO. We have developed a strong culture of independence with our team, preferring candidates who can articulate their own vision and goals. We operate almost entirely remotely so each team member designs their own hours and work schedule. In the end all that matters is the delivered product. We hire based on people’s abilities to adapt and change quickly, valuing underlying core abilities above specific skill sets.

Responsibilities

• Proactively assist game designers, marketeers and developers in solving problems using data

• Create and improve our AI agents to help tune and improve our games

• Come up with new and creative insights using data and statistics to help the DAO

• Implement robust and reliable data products

Skills and Qualifications

• Have excellent communication skills

• Have a developed intuition for solving problems with data

• Have a deep understanding of math and statistics

• High proficiency with Python

• The ability to both work independently while proactively engaging with the Analytics team

• Experience building e2e data-driven solutions

• An interest in creating models and AI at the intersection of blockchain and gaming

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience applying Reinforcement Learning algorithms to real world tasks is a huge plus

• Experience building data-driven solutions solving problems related to gaming is a big plus

• Experience using AWS and data engineering
