Riverside Research is seeking a GEOINT data scientist to support and advance its satellite collection planning application within the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency (NGA)! Riverside Research prides itself on delivering efficient, effective solutions and the key to our success is our talented Program Managers. We are an R&D organization with core competencies in modeling and simulation; orchestrated space and airborne planning; mission resilience; intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) systems engineering; novel collection techniques; and sensor technology. We are looking for a data scientist to identify, collect, process, and analyze large volumes of data to build and enhance GEOINT products, processes, and systems. The candidate will also provide data science services within NGA in support of GEOINT analysis. Knowledge of data science, methodologies, and processing techniques shall be employed on behalf of GEOINT analysts and community customers while providing operational support.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with minimal guidance and be fully capable of meeting most analytic methodology services without direction
  • Apply mathematical techniques to solve complex problems and develop quantitative based assessments to include statistical data analysis, knowledge discovery, and mathematical modeling
  • Collect and analyze data from a variety of sources (experience with a variety of data formats, unique data sources, complex data, raw data)
  • Provide Subject Matter Expertise to project team members and the analytical cadre
  • Interact with analysts, mission partners and others on analytical functionality and exploitation and related support tools
  • Provide database consultation, graphical data visualizations, and recommendations for quantitative data selection, intelligence collection & integration
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Requirements:

  • Top Secret with SCI adjudication (Must be able to obtain TS/SCI clearance with CI/Poly)
  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, physical science, computer science or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in technical GEOINT processing and analysis
  • Experience with temporal and pattern analysis, correlation of events, probability analysis, assessments of sampling, analysis of variance and error, and regression testing and analysis propensity to dig into problems in the pursuit of determining root-cause
  • Proficient in programming skills (VB, Python)
  • Knowledge and experience with artificial intelligence and machine learning
  • Experience creating data analytical models
  • Experience creating reports, Data Visual Aides, and project presentations

 

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in physics, mathematics, engineering, physical science, computer science or equivalent experience
  • Experience coordinating with DOD and IC
  • Experience in the development of automation strategies for data collection
