To achieve our vision, we continue to invest in our Data Science & Analytics team to make a difference to our patients and providers. The Analytics team supports our product, growth, marketing, supply chain and operations team with insights to improve product development and business execution & measurement. Our Data Science team partners with Engineering, Product and business organizations to build solutions and intelligence that influence key business decisions via quantitative insights. Our ideal candidate has experience developing algorithms from the ground up, contributes innovative ideas, is strong at execution, and is capable of planning out scalable, maintainable pipelines

  • Develop algorithms for maximum impact to the patient and the provider, increase and optimize customer experiences, revenue generation, direct to consumer targeting.
  • Develop statistical and machine learning solutions end-to-end through the full life cycle of prototyping, testing, evaluating, deploying and maintaining them at scale
  • Develop measurement solutions and experimentation frameworks to ensure effective data-driven decision making.
  • Form close collaborative relationships with other data scientists and engineering and product partners to understand the business context, develop domain expertise, and prioritize across projects in the relevant domain.
  • Be a thought leader in the ML space and continue to identify opportunities to build intelligence and automate prescription value stream for the patients
  • Mine and analyze data from  Patient, Pharmacy Supply Chain systems to improving our product offering
  • Coordinate with different functional teams to implement models and monitor outcomes.
  • Develop processes and tools to monitor and analyze model performance and data accuracy.

A Bit About You:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Embodies Alto’s mission and values
  • Demonstrated track record of successful projects that apply quantitative techniques to improve a product or business.
  • Domain expertise in one of the fields: statistics, machine learning, optimization, and economics.
  • Holds a Masters degree or PhD in a quantitative field with at least 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist or holds a Bachelors in a quantitative field and has at least 7 years of experience working as a data scientist.
  • Has experience in data analysis, A/B testing, retention tracking, etc. (consumer product experience is preferred).
  • Is proficient in data mining and statistics.
  • Is highly proficient in SQL as well as experience programming in Python, R, Scala, or an equivalent language.
  • Has strong analytical and critical thinking skills as well as a strong bias toward actionable insights; loves finding insights and getting others to act on them.
  • Is a self-starter with superior organizational and prioritization skills.



Additional Physical Job Requirements

  • Read English, comprehend, and follow simple oral and written instructions.  The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.  Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Communicating with others to exchange information.  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.
  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.
  • Frequent repeating motions required to operate a computer that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

Salary Range: (Base: Senior $130,000.00 - $155,000.00; Staff $170,000 - $200,000) * + Bonus

*Please note this range is specific to employees working in Colorado. Salary ranges for remote candidates working outside of Colorado can be subject to regionalized compensation based on their respective work location. 

Equity Eligible: Full-time - Yes.  

Travel: Yes. Up to <10% of the time.
