The Credit Karma Fall Intern Program is a 10-14 week paid internship program located in Charlotte, NC. During your internship, you will be coordinated into a team where you will work on various projects to help Credit Karma fulfill its mission to make financial progress possible for everyone. Interns will have the opportunity to participate in weekly cohort meetings, team outings, events, and engage in discussions with Credit Karma leadership. Data is at the heart of Credit Karma. Our data enables us to build innovative products, extend our mission, make informed decisions, and help our members achieve lifelong financial progress. To help maintain and improve all that data, we’re looking for an Operations Intern to join our Data Product and Partnerships team. Our team manages all of Credit Karma’s data partnerships, from the credit bureaus to auto data providers to identity monitoring services.
In this role, you’ll help expand and manage a growing data quality and analytics program. We’re building this program to ensure our partners deliver quality data, and to help other Credit Karma teams use all that data to support our business and members. As our Operations Intern, you’ll help build automated tracking to measure the performance of our partners’ data services and internal utilization metrics, reporting on findings and driving improvements when necessary. This role will give you the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders (Product, Marketing, Business Development, Engineering, and so many more) as well as external partners. Through your work, you’ll learn the ins and outs of Credit Karma and how to effectively drive change in a high growth company, becoming an expert in data, analytics, and technology of all varieties along the way.

What you'll do:

  • Develop frameworks, processes, and monitoring to measure the performance and quality of our partners’ data services
  • Create and monitor data utilization metrics across Credit Karma Business UnitsCreate reports on findings for executives, the Data Partnerships team, and other stakeholders
  • Drive actionable plans with internal teams and external partners to improve data quality & utilization
  • Support management of partner relationships to ensure data quality & business value
  • Conduct due diligence on potential data partners to assess new data assets
  • Build and leverage expertise on Credit Karma’s data and architecture to drive impact across the company

What we are looking for:

  • Naturally inquisitive — Interested in learning all about consumer finance, data, and software architecture
  • Self-starter — Shows initiative and ability to get things done in a fast-paced environment
  • Problem solver — Analytic mindset, enjoy solving ambiguous problems with limited resources
  • Detail oriented — Don’t mind rolling up your sleeves and diving into large datasets to find small errors
  • Working towards a bachelor’s degree or greater in Economics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or other quantitative field
  • Experienced in SQL or willing to learn quickly; knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets is a must
