Location

At GoDaddy the future of work looks different for each team. Some teams work in the office full-time, others have a hybrid arrangement (they work remotely some days and in the office some days) and some work entirely remotely.

This position may be a hybrid or fully remote position, as decided by your manager. If designated as hybrid, you’ll divide your time between working remotely from your home and an office location, so you should live within commuting distance. If designated as remote, you’ll be working remotely from your home and may occasionally visit a GoDaddy office to meet with your team for events or off-sites. Your hiring manager can share more about this role’s hybrid or remote designation.

This position is not eligible to be performed in Alaska, Mississippi, North Dakota, or the Virgin Islands.

GoDaddy is investing heavily in machine learning, and the GDML team supports this effort through both modeling and development of GoDaddy’s modeling platform. We’re looking for an experienced ML practitioner/developer to help us build something great.

 What you'll get to do...

• Solve impactful, web-scale ML problems and take the solutions from planning to production.
• Ideate and implement advanced ML solutions like domain-specific embeddings, custom featurization, and customized language models.
• Build a great company-wide ML platform that enables other data scientists and ML engineers to train, validate, deploy, and monitor ML
• Mentor teammates in advanced ML and ML engineering practices
• Engage with engineering leadership across GoDaddy to define development and production processes for ML creation and deployment.
• Recommend architectural patterns to other teams; e.g., consult on the architectural design of ML pipelines for collecting data for ML training and inference.
• Collaborate with a distributed team, including pairing, code reviews, identifying opportunities for code refactoring, and defining best practices.

 Your experience should include...

• 7+ years of experience as a Software Engineer.
• Experience designing and building a platform or libraries for engineers.
• Experience with Python, AWS, and CICD platforms (such as GH Actions, Jenkins, Travis, CircleCI, etc.)
• Experience with ML Models in production environment
• An understanding of the machine learning development lifecycle.
• Experience and desire to mentor engineers on best practices and code craftsmanship.
• Experience in an Agile software development environment.

 You might also have...

• Experience designing, building, and shipping backend systems with multiple tiers, including API, caching, and data access layers.
• Experience designing data ETL pipelines. Experience using big data related technologies such as Spark, Airflow, and EMR.
