Title: Lead Data Scientist

Duties: The Lead Data Scientist (Multiple Positions Open) at Chime Financial, Inc. in San Francisco, California will work on the Member Services Data Science team responsible for creating a stellar experience for Chime users through the innovative use of machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP). The Lead Data Scientist will build solutions form the ground up, drive important ML initiatives, and manage the complete ML lifecycle from data wrangling to building, deploying and monitoring models in production. Duties of the position include: understand product and business requirements from the member experience team; identify and apply novel ML approaches to solve our most challenging problems in impactful ways; leverage historical, real-time, clickstream data to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of our decision-making infrastructure; partner with ML platform engineers to design machine learning solutions that operate quickly and effectively at scale; proactively identify opportunities for using ML and NLP/NLU to improve support experience for users and enable support agents to resolve user issues efficiently; lead efforts to build the next generation of data products at Chime; level up the DSML team through knowledge sharing; contribute to process improvements and developing internal tools; utilize industry experience to develop machine learning models from inception to business impact; build production ML pipelines (development, deployment, inference and monitoring) at scale; utilize experience with machine learning techniques (classifiers, recommenders, statistical models) and NLP technique when working on structured and unstructured data fields to develop ML models.

Requirements: Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Analytics or a directly related field, plus 6 years of experience with developing and deploying machine learning models.   The experience must include 6 years of experience with each of the following: (1) Machine Learning (ML) models; (2) Natural Language Processing (NLP); (3) Python; (4) Pandas; and (5) Scikit-learn.
