Lucayan Technology LLC is hiring a Cloud Data Architect to support the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Information Technology Enterprise Operations and Maintenance Contract (IT EOM). USSOCOM requires comprehensive worldwide information technology (IT) support to operate and maintain the Special Operations Forces (SOF) Information Enterprise (SIE).
The Cloud Data Architect will develop, optimize, and oversee conceptual and logical data systems for a new U. S. Army Cloud build. Duties may include preparing architect reports, monitoring the system, and supervising system migrations. The cloud will be Microsoft Azure based.
Candidate should know how to examine new data system requirements and implement cloud migration models. The ideal candidate will also have proven experience in data analysis and management, with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
General duties include:
- Developing and implementing an overall organizational data strategy that is in line with business processes. The strategy includes data model designs, database development standards, implementation and management of data warehouses and data analytics systems.
- Identifying data sources, both internal and external, and working out a plan for data management that is aligned with organizational data strategy.
- Coordinating and collaborating with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors for the smooth functioning of the enterprise data system.
- Managing end-to-end data architecture, from selecting the platform, designing the technical architecture, and developing the application to finally testing and implementing the proposed solution.
- Planning and execution of big data solutions using technologies such as Hadoop. In fact, the big data architect roles and responsibilities entail the complete life-cycle management of a Hadoop Solution. `
- Defining and managing the flow of data and dissemination of information within the organization.
- Integrating technical functionality, ensuring data accessibility, accuracy, and security.
- Conducting a continuous audit of data management system performance, refine whenever required, and report immediately any breach or loopholes to the stakeholders.

- Applied mathematics and statistics

- DBMS software, including SQL Server
- Database and cloud computing design, architectures and data lakes
- Hadoop technologies like Pig, Hive and MapReduce
- Information management and data processing on multiple platforms
- Agile methodologies and enterprise resource planning implementation
- Machine learning, predictive modeling and natural language processing
- Data mining and modeling tools
- Programming languages, including Java, Python and C/C++, as well as unified modeling language
- Operating systems like Unix, Linux, Solaris and Windows
- Application server software as well as backup and archival software
- Systems development lifecycle and project management
- Data management and reporting technologies, predictive analytics, data visualization and unstructured data
- Creative and analytical problem-solving capabilities
- Strong business and communication skills as well as knowledge of the big data industry
- Military experience is a bonus.
Requirements
- Clearance Requirements: An active Army SECRET Clearance is required
- Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or relevant field.
- Certification Requirements:
- Must be IAT Level II Certified IAW DoD 8570.01-M and DA Pam 25-2-6.
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert OR
- Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer OR
- Additional desired (Not Required) certifications, skills, experience, and/or knowledge:
- Networking experience,
- VMware virtualization experience.
- Understanding of DISA STIGs.
- Experience Requirements:
- A minimum of five years’ experience in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of database structure systems and data mining.
- Excellent organizational and analytical abilities.
- Outstanding problem solver.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven work experience as a Data Architect, Data Scientist, Data Analyst or similar role
- In-depth understanding of database structure principles
- Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
- Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques
- Expertise in SQL and Oracle
- Proficiency in MS Excel
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, D3.js and R)
- Proven analytical skills
- Azure, GCP, PMI, ISO27001/2, CCNP, ITIL, CFA, API are all regarded as relevant skills.
