The Marketing Analytics Engineer role is critical within Podium with tremendous visibility across key stakeholders. This role is responsible for supporting marketing reporting by creating key datasets and strategically connecting various data sources to the data warehouse and BI tool. This includes working across various groups to understand how data is structured, working within the data warehouse and business intelligence platform to create datasets, and analyzing data for trends and insights. This role will work cross-functionally across marketing, business strategy, data science, and IT to drive impact for marketing at Podium through data-driven reporting and insights.

What you get to do in this role:

  • Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional business requirements
  • Assist analyst teams in identifying the best data to use to answer business questions through data dictionary maintenance and overall data knowledge
  • Assist analyst teams with data gathering and provide insight for improving SQL query construction
  • Work to identify, design, and implement internal process improvements including: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, re-designing infrastructure for greater scalability, etc.
  • Work with functional business leaders to integrate new data sources and software solutions into the reporting environment
  • Work with marketing and multiple technical business teams to quickly diagnose, prioritize, and scope marketing data needs that will deliver insights to optimize the business
  • Manage data strategy and analytics workflows to support marketing reporting development including centralization and processing of marketing cost data to support attribution and ROI reporting
  • Drive standardization and automation in marketing performance reporting across analysis and reporting deliverables
  • Ensure your numbers are air-tight by performing individual quality control, checking with relevant data owners, and cross-referencing findings against secondary sources

In order to be successful, the ideal candidate will have

  • 4+ years of Advanced SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Knowledge of modern data pipeline architecture, e.g. AWS, Snowflake, et
  • Strong data visualization and dashboarding experience (Tableau, Domo)
  • Experience building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data in a near real-time environment
  • Experience working with data ingestion tools or API integrations to pull data from and push data into various business software solutions, e.g. Marketo, Salesforce, Google Ads, 
  • Experience performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to provide required data to analysts in answering business questions
  • Experience working with business process owners and analysts to create and maintain purpose-built data infrastructure
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Strong ability to translate stakeholder requests into technical requirements to surface impactful end-state analyses, reports and insights
  • Degree in Computer Science, Math, Statistics, Engineering, Economics, Business, or hands on job experience with data science or analytics
