Machine Learning Engineer (Infrastructure)

HUMAN was founded in 2012 in a Brooklyn sci-fi bookstore by Tamer Hassan, Michael Tiffany, Dan Kaminsky, and Ash Kalb. Our humble beginnings led to the creation of the Human Verification Engine, the backbone of all our products that protect enterprises from sophisticated bots. The HUMAN R&D team is pivotal to our mission to protect the heart of the internet by disrupting the economics of cybercrime. They are the ones uncovering and fighting bot operations like PARETO, ICEBUCKET, 3ve, and Methbot. HUMAN supports our R&D humans by strongly valuing deep work and flexibility. Company-wide meeting-free Fridays give you uninterrupted time to work on your projects. Additionally, this team is encouraged to participate in R&D Research Friday - a designated half-day each week dedicated to trying new ideas and personal career development. In this role, you will be part of a detection team of highly skilled data scientists, ML engineers, hackers, threat analysts and software engineers that build the brain inside our products. The data is big, the adversaries are smart and the opportunity for innovation is beyond imagination. You should be an experienced software engineer with genuine interest in Machine Learning. You must use your technical skills to manipulate internet-scale data.

What you'll do:

• Work with ML researchers / Data Scientists to build scalable ML infrastructure and frameworks from experimentation to production.
• You will maintain,  improve and extend our MLOps processes to facilitate ML experimentation
• Work with different teams across HUMAN to productionize your solutions and translate ambiguous business requirements to well defined OKRs and smaller units of work (i.e. epics, user stories).
• You will provide feedback, generate movement, help the team and the company to improve how it operates.

Who you are:

• You are a Software Engineer. You consider yourself a software engineer, you love to code, you love to develop and run software.
• You know Python. You speak Python as a second language. You love the language and have opinions on what is "Pythonic" and what isn't. 
• You are an MLOps enthusiast, you like to keep up with the latest advancements in the domain and you use this knowledge to improve the performance of our production systems
• You love automation and you hate busywork. That is, the idea of repeating the same task twice horrifies you.
• You have a sound understanding of systems architecture
• You have at least two years of experience with Cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• You have a very good understanding of SQL and databases concepts
• You are familiar with ML Pipelines, Model Deployment, Training pipelines, Distributed training, GPU acceleration or Big Data pipelines. ( MLFlow, TFX, Sagemaker, Vertex AI) 
• A basic understanding of Machine Learning will be considered a plus
• You know that everything is possible, and you're excited about assuming different roles and working on different things. However, you're experienced enough to identify good ideas from bad, and you protect your precious time in order to focus on building what matters.
