Technical Lead Manager, Offboard Autonomy Infrastructure

About this teamThe offboard autonomy infrastructure group will be responsible for all the cloud infrastructure needed to run autonomy efficiently on the robots. These include tools like software and hardware in the loop simulation, ML training, evaluation and deployment process, autonomy metrics tracking, autonomy data pipelines, autonomy - teleoperation communication. As the tech lead manager of the team, you will be leading the group that builds these tools, processes and algorithms. As the lead you will also be responsible for the future direction and roadmap of offboard cloud software architecture, processes that allow scaling & improving the autonomy stack.

Responsibilities

• Technical lead and people manager for the offboard autonomy infrastructure team
• Offboard robot log management including sensor & module logs 
• Architect and build the tools required for searching, playing back and manipulating large scale robot logs supporting autonomy development
• Build and maintain simulation tools to evaluate autonomy
• Architect and build machine learning training, evaluation and deployment processes

Basic Qualifications

• Strong computer system fundamentals and proficiency in Go/Python or C/C++
• Experience with distributed systems and microservice architectures 
• Excellent coding & architecture skills with well designed interfaces
• 4+ years of industry experience, ideally more
• BS/MS/PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related engineering field  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes/Docker
• Experience with databases & data warehousing
• Experience with autonomous vehicle, robotics or gaming industry
• Experience with large scale video based machine learning infrastructure for training, eval and deployment
• Previous people manager experience
