Software Engineer, Onboard Autonomy Infrastructure

About this team
The onboard autonomy infrastructure group will be responsible for the overall autonomy infrastructure running on the robot - efficient communication between different autonomy modules, sensor & module message logging, machine learning inference, sensor synchronization, sensor drivers etc. As a software engineer on this team you will help build tools, processes and algorithms that run on the robot working cross functionally with hardware, AI, ML & robotics engineers.

Responsibilities

• Build and manage the autonomy operating system, middleware, logging & robot compute platform
• Build and manage onboard sensor drivers and autonomy health system
• Work cross functionally with Hardware Engineers, AI, ML, Roboticists to build and manage interprocess communication

Basic Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD or equivalent degree in Computer Science or related engineering field
• 2+ years of experience
• Strong computer system fundamentals and proficiency in C/C++ 
• Comfortable with inter process communication & multi-threaded processes specially on Unix/Linux based platforms
• Excellent coding & architecture skills with well designed interfaces

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Autonomous Vehicle Industry
• Experience with robotics middleware & distributed messaging frameworks such as ROS, ZeroMQ, LCM, gRPC
• Experience with NVidia ecosystem of GPUs and embedded devices
• Experience with time synchronization of multiple sensors
