POSITION DESCRIPTION

Sayari Labs is looking for an Analyst to join our Product team. In this role, you will support Sayari’s global data acquisition and quality control operations, and will be responsible for researching public records databases, supporting data onboarding, maintaining data metrics, and monitoring ongoing public data developments. The Product team is a cross-department team working with our Engineering, Solutions, Sales, and Marketing divisions as well as other key stakeholders across the business. You will report to the Global Data Manager.

Sayari’s continued success depends upon the company’s ability to identify, acquire, and maintain data about people and companies from around the world, with geographical coverage sufficient to meet customer demands and redundancy plans. To succeed in this job, you should enjoy spending time combing through government open data portals, creating matrices to compare vendors, and reviewing source parsers.

This is a hybrid role that offers an office option located in the heart of Washington, DC, a block away from the Chinatown metro. We have a preference for Washington DC-based candidates that can come into Sayari’s DC office 1-2 times a week.

Responsibilities:

  • Data Onboarding (30%):
    • Support implementation of Sayari’s data roadmap goals
    • Locate foreign government databases and third-party data vendors to identify valuable datasets for automated collection or purchase
    • Keep track of new public disclosure legislation, ultimate beneficial owner registries, financial crime compliance/export control regulations, relevant law enforcement actions, and other public records and financial crime industry developments
    • Proactively devise, propose and implement innovative data solutions
  • Data Quality Control (40%):
    • Become an in-house “superuser” of Sayari products, and support: parser code quality assurance, internal data testing, and release to customers
    • Devise schemas to map large, complex datasets to Sayari’s ontology, metadata, and data model
    • Coordinate with Engineering team to ensure data is being accurately parsed and mapped
    • Collaborate with Solutions/Sales/Customer Success teams to inform Sayari’s data acquisition strategy
  • Metrics Maintenance (20%):
    • Monitor Sayari’s source statistics / data counts
    • Collaborate with Marketing to creatively message and disseminate information about Sayari’s data holdings
  • Customer Success (10%):
    • Support Global Data Manager and Director of Product Management with data requests from new customers and upsells

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Creativity, technical savvy, and attention to detail
  • 1-3 years of experience in investigations or open-source research for commercial, academic, or similar purposes (internship experience included)
  • Professional fluency in one or more priority languages (Chinese, Russian, Arabic, Spanish, French)
  • Experience with public records, due diligence/commercial intelligence tools
  • Ability to multitask, solve problems creatively, and triage competing priorities
  • Ability to identify challenges before they arise and work proactively and creatively to address them

Helpful Skills & Experience:

  • Quantitative business analyst, coding (Python), data science, or related experience
