The Bestow Data & Analytics team is highly visible, working across the company to support analysis of business performance, data-driven decision making, and predictive insights.  We are responsible for data through its lifecycle from acquisition, processing into trusted and easy-to-use data sets, reporting, and driving the business to new opportunities through the application of data science. 
The role can be based in Austin, Dallas, or Remote (US) #LI-Remote. Due to specific job requirements, remote employees may be required to travel up to 2 weeks per quarter.

ABOUT THE ROLE

• Shape and champion a holistic vision for the use and leverage of data, ML, and AI in the organization, make data science a key aspect of our product offering and drive bottom-line growth for our direct business and b2b partners.
• Lead an organization of 20+ BI analysts, data analysts, and data scientists.
• Focus on the application of analytics and data science to drive measurable business results
• Partner closely with senior and executive leaders across the organization to drive operational excellence through data and create new business opportunities.
• Partner with the Data Engineering team to ensure the best use of data tools, data sets, and data environment to support analysts and data scientists.
• Lead data governance, ethics, and compliance in collaboration with legal privacy and compliance teams.
• Support marketing teams by building attribution, propensity, and self-learning response models to gain deep knowledge and comprehensive understanding of the customer and run better targeting, funnel optimization, and audience selection experiments to drive towards automation of campaigns.
• Working alongside the underwriting and actuarial teams to drive innovation in life insurance risk and price modeling. 
• Think outside of the traditional industry methods and use new data sources available to us to create new ways of modeling mortality, eligibility, and pricing. 
• Support revenue teams for Bestow’s own sales channels and those managed on behalf of enterprise customers with reporting and analytics

YOUR EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years experience in management, including indirect management of cross-functional teams.
• 10+ years experience in analytics and data science and demonstrable experience in building data science capability
• Senior-level people leadership including the development of people leaders, and an understanding of organizational design strategies.
• Flexible leadership style and willingness to be hands-on while building out teams and practices in a growing organization.
• Expert in the selection and application of current technologies for analytics and data science (data warehouse systems, data visualization, data science platforms) including scalable data science environments
• Technical depth to guide a team of AI/ML experts in applying the most appropriate techniques emphasizing driving business impact
• Our data stack includes Tealium, DBT, Astronomer, Atlan, Python, Big Query, Arrikto, and Tableau. Familiarity with these and similar tools is required, as well as an eagerness to engage with teams on technical details. .
• Familiarity with data vendor ecosystem and leveraging of third party data sets as extensions of first-party data
