As a Data Scientist, you will be expected to work directly with senior management on key business problems. Scientists at Amazon use statistical and other models to address complex problems, design and test hypothesis, and contribute to the design of automated systems. We are looking for a results-driven scientist to join our team in Seattle. The right candidate will work closely with other research scientists, machine learning experts, and economists.

The key strategic objectives for this role include:
· Provide data-driven guidance and recommendations on strategic questions posed by leadership
· Design and analysis of experiments as well as define and analyze success metrics
· Identify opportunities/tests that drive service discovery, new customer acquisition, or productivity with the end goal to drive growth.
· Conduct, direct, and coordinate all phases of research projects, demonstrating skill in all stages of the analysis process, including defining key research questions, recommending measures, working with multiple data sources, evaluating methodology and design, executing analysis plans, as well as interpreting and communicating results

Basic Qualifications


· Masters Degree in Social Sciences, Applied Math, Statistics or similar field
· 5+ years of related work experience
· Expertise in statistical software package such as R or Python



Preferred Qualifications

· Ability to distill customer requirements into problem definitions
· Ability to manage competing priorities in an ambiguous environment
· Superior verbal and written communication skills, ability to convey rigorous mathematical concepts and considerations to non-experts
