The Role: The Director, Big Data & Analytics will be responsible for lead and support the overall Big Data/Analytics Platform adoption across DNB globally. He or she will work with various Product and Business teams to understand their needs and propose appropriate cloud-based architecture/design for implementation. Will be leading large ML models, scores, and other analytical initiatives while working with various IT Infrastructure, Business, and Vendor teams.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Will be responsible for developing overall Big Data & analytics architecture strategy and technical design in collaboration with various BU/IT teams to understand their pain points, use cases, and suggest appropriate cloud-based solutions
  • Identify and solve design problems of moderate to complex analytics implementation, should independently plan and design solutions, involving potentially conflicting design requirements.
  • Experience demonstrating an understanding of cloud-based data & analytics platform best practices and leveraging them within various production implementations
  • Deep technical knowledge & coding background in Java, REST APIs, and Spark.
  • Be a trusted advisor, and API/Cloud/Big Data SME who will help BU teams with review of architecture patterns and suggesting cost effective models.
  • Good communication and relationship management skills are a MUST as there is heavy interaction with various executive stakeholders
  • Educate engineers on good design & implementation principles, best practices, standards, and enforce design concepts throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Work closely with application/operations teams to actively identify & resolve performance issues
  • Contribute ideas to develop new technologies, applications, and techniques that are creative and practical.

Key Requirements:

  • 10+ years of extensive experience in Data Architecture, Business Intelligence, Public/Private cloud, Application Solution Architecture, Application Development, and building out large scale Data & Analytics platforms.
  • Minimum 6+ years of hands-on experience in architecture and design patterns, implementation of Big Data and Analytics technologies (AWS EMR, Cloudera, Databricks, Apache Spark, API’s), and extensive experience with data architecture patterns (data warehouse, data lake, streaming, etc.).
  • 3+ year of hands-on experience on architecting and building APIs in Java, Microservices, Containers, Spring Boot and REST technologies.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience in architecting large scale applications on AWS or GCP public cloud environments.
  • Must have hands on experience setting up and scaling out Databricks, AWS EMR, or any Big Data related solutions (AWS Kinesis, RedShift, ELK, Spark, etc.) at scale
  • Must have worked on large multi-region big data platform implementations in the last 2 to 4 years.
  • Prior experience in developing work effort estimates, project plans, budget estimates, and roadmaps.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience rolling out Analytics and Machine Learning models at scale will be a HUGE plus.
  • Prior working knowledge of AWS EKS, ECS Fargate, or any container service will be a plus.
  • Prior experience on Google Cloud will be a HUGE plus.
  • End to end lifecycle implementation experience building large enterprise scale applications using AWS/GCP cloud services is highly desired.
  • SRE/Ops experience will be beneficial
