Start trading in minutes.As our Tax & Regulatory Reporting Data Analyst, you will be supporting the acquisition & maintenance of state money transmitter licenses through working cross-functionally with finance, compliance, and legal teams. You will also be embedded into the Finance organization, working with and supporting the tax team on a day-to-day basis. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a solid Analytical background and experience in tax and/or Regulatory Reporting. You are not only strong in execution and delivery, but also comfortable in strategy and planning.
Responsibilities
- Create and maintain reporting definition dictionary across various regulatory jurisdictions for MTL maintenance
- Coordinate with compliance, legal, accounting, and treasury teams to ensure timely submissions to regulators
- Assist in writing and maintaining code for automation of periodic regulatory reports
- Provide data for state MSB licensing applications, renewals, reporting, and state examinations
- Work alongside compliance to ensure KYC data completeness in reporting
- Aid in annual testing process and submission of 1099-MISCs by pulling rewards data and PII informationCollaborate with Tax Team to design process and pull data for 1042-S reportingTrack tax cost basis for corporate assets
- Assist with data needs for Secretary of State filings
- Ensure tax reporting capabilities for expansion into foreign jurisdictions
- Create and maintain user tax profiles
- Streamline user transaction history reports for off-boarded users
- Create reports for periodic SALT reporting and reconcile revenue data with financials
Requirements
- CPA preferred and 2-4 years of Tax, Compliance, or Legal experience and preferably in dealing with state regulators
- Experience with Money Transmitter Licenses preferred
- Have one of the following: a degree in Computer Science or related discipline, certificate of completion of a Software Engineering or Data Science Bootcamp, or one year minimum Data Science/Coding experience
- Intermediate-level knowledge of SQL & Python; and preferably experience with using python libraries numpy, pandas, matplotlib, and seaborn
- Familiar with at least one BI tool (e.g. Tableau, Looker, Power BI)
- Experience manipulating large data sets in a distributed computing environment
- A passion for Emerging Technologies related to Blockchain, Machine Learning, and AI
- A desire and ability to think abstractly, solve problems and deal with ambiguity
- Familiarity with Financial Markets, Cryptocurrencies, Defi, Staking, and/or NFTs a plus
- Prior experience with NetSuite
