About the role:
CaptivateIQ is looking for our first data analyst. Energetic, curious and driven, this individual will be an agent of order in an environment teeming with data and opportunity.  Partnering with teams across the company, this role will focus on the first iteration of how CaptivateIQ uses, visualizes and shares data internally at scale. It will partner with teams across the organization to deliver strategic insights, organize KPIs and plan for a data centric future. This person thrives in ambiguity and accels at bringing structure and order to new environments.
The data analyst will be a core contributor to product initiatives and customer analysis. Delivering critical strategic insights that inform our roadmap and  translate business, product and technical questions into concrete quantitative analysis.

In this role you will:

• Leverage SQL and other languages to aggregate, shape, structure and analyze data
• Perform a variety of exploratory analyses that help us understand our products and customer to identify opportunities for improvement
• Create dashboards and other summary visualizations to support decision-making for product and operational teams
• Leverage data to build business cases for product features and business priorities
• Work with Engineering to define systems, tools and process for data management and data transparency

Requirements:

• BA/BS degree, ideally in computer science, math or another quantitative field
• 3+ years experience as a data analyst, data engineer or related role
• Advanced proficiency with SQL, Excel and Python is a plus
• Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills with emphasis on efficient synthesis of complex topics and dissemination of actionable takeaways
• Experience with data manipulation, exploratory analysis and ETLs 
• Experience with visualization and dashboard development and maintenance
• Proficiency with BI solutions such as Tableau, Looker, Mode, PowerBI, Metabase etc.
• Ability to adapt and work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic, and deadline-oriented environment
