Data Engineer - Data & Insights

Your role:

As a Data Engineer you will be part of the Data & Insights team, which helps Adjust make data-driven decisions and drive business growth. Your main job will be to help build the right data architecture ensuring data correctness and availability for analysts and stakeholders. The size of our databases, some of which are on the petabytes-scale, will be a big technical challenge. Our team consists of Data Analytics Engineers, Data Analysts and Data Scientists who build self service tools, provide analysis, and contribute significantly to our data-driven culture by focusing on impact and not output.

Your responsibilities: 

• Helping the team improve and build a data architecture that supports both complex analytical queries on the one hand and fast online analytics with columnar databases and dashboarding tools on the other
• Acting as a bridge between the data science and engineering teams
• Building data pipelines that apply business logic, including making choices about levels of aggregation, grouping and transforming fields, and being responsible for data quality
• Developing custom data integrations and work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs
• Helping automate reporting and analytics tasks

What you bring:

• 5+ years of previous experience in a Analytics Engineer role
• Fluency in Python and very strong in SQL
• Extensive experience with Postgres and fast columnar databases like Clickhouse
• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as Airflow and Luigi
• Clear communication in written and verbal English
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills and an educational background in a quantitative field
• Exposure to various with BI data architectures and can bring a first principles mindset to bear on the unique technical challenges at Adjust
