Position Summary  
We're looking for an experienced FCC Data Scientist to help mature our FCC program. You will  champion the overall data analysis as it relates to the FCC strategy at HackerOne by sharing  knowledge, impactful analysis, and actionable intelligence. You will be a vital part of our team  responsible for translating an FCC-risk based approach from compliance stakeholders with  cross-functional teams in product, marketing, and engineering. You will work with our FCC team  and cross-functionally with product and engineering organizations to transform compliance  requirements into architecture and integrate BSA data into our longer-term platform strategy,  including the incorporation of enterprise risk management. Additionally, you will Introduce  standard methodologies and principles around analytics and supporting Bank Secrecy Act  (BSA) and related data governance to enable consistent delivery and alignment with the FCC  strategic direction. This includes conducting complex and exploratory analysis needed to  deepen an understanding of users. 
This function will be tackling immediate needs as an individual contributor. We are looking for a  proven leader who can define a strategy, determine needs, and build out an FCC data analytics  function as the company’s growth scales.

Your Journey at HackerOne 
The FCC Data Analyst will contribute to the data analytics development for the FCC team,  leveraging technical expertise to increase information value of content with actionable insights.  The individual in this role also is responsible for driving enterprise-wide actionable, FCC data  driven insights for non-FCC experts that assist in development of required platform and risk  management enhancements.  The FCC Data Scientist is responsible for maintaining a working knowledge of all regulatory  obligations and be able to relate them to firm policy, procedures, and processes across  HackerOne, as well as manage any potential customer/user related issues. This includes identifying appropriate resolution of issues and escalations to FCC leadership.

You will work in partnership with the FCC team and internal stakeholders to:

  •  New Program Design and Management: Design HackerOne’s FCC data analytics  framework within the AML Program. Ensure FCC requirements are met and tracked  through the end-to-end compliance risk management system, including driving the scale  and quality of data analysis through automated systems and tools that deliver measurable impact. Utilize analysis to drive transaction monitoring rules development.  Identify data analytics, business intelligence, and data visualization tools, such as  Looker or Tableau, to ensure scalable and reliable investigative processes with  consultation and approval of the FCC Directors and Head of Payments Compliance.
  •  Advisory & Liaison: Serve as a liaison between compliance SMEs and Product and  Engineering to provide data-driven, FCC advisory guidance to deliver initiatives, clearly  communicating and helping non-experts understand the impact of applicable FCC laws,  regulations, and requirements 
  • Escalations: While ensuring functional requirements are met, understood, and  delivered, provide strategic, risk-based advice, solutions, and regular updates to FCC  management regarding the matters being handled, including but not limited to, the timely  escalation and resolution of potential issues through management information reports,  dashboard, etc. 
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with stakeholders throughout the FCC risk  management lifecycle to resolve blockers, influence decisions, address questions, and  balance between functionality, user experience, and regulatory requirements. 
  • Project Management: Plan, scope, resource, coordinate, communicate status, manage  risks, and track progress across multiple analytic product work streams. Develop and  maintain policies, procedures, and documentation to demonstrate compliance in  program areas and develop integrated strategies to optimize development,  implementation, and risk-based analysis of recommendations. 
  • Risk Assessments: Provide data-driven feedback, reporting, and root-cause analysis  in a timely manner to risk assessments to identify issues, evaluate control  enhancements, and prioritize program activities. Proactively provide event-driven  reporting to identify root-causes for risk identification and remediation control  enhancements.  
  • Employee Development & Training: Partner with internal stakeholders and outside  vendors to design FCC training and building skills for continuous learning. Maintain and  enhance subject matter expertise at the intersection of data and FCC laws, regulations,  and best practices. Ensure continued professional development to meet HackerOne’s  business priorities.

Who You Are

  • 5-8+ years of experience within a FinTech in the data and analytics space, with deep  knowledge around data strategy, data architecture, data modelling, data analytics,  visualizations, AI & ML. 
  • 5-8+ years financial crimes compliance data analysis or comparable experience at a  FinTech, financial institution, regulatory agency, law firm, or major consulting firm
  • Strong experience balancing product and business priorities with risk-based compliance  requirements. Solid knowledge and experience with FCC laws, regulations, and best  practices, as well as experience in applying same to scaling international programs
  • Experience with data transformation processes, data pipelines, API integrations,  including balancing business priorities with risk-based compliance requirements
  • Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and communication skills (oral and written), with  individuals at all levels and across functional areas. Strong presence and organizational  skills to effectively influence cross-firm programs while engaging stakeholders 
  • Ability to define key performance and risk indicators, and operationalize program  metrics, with a demonstrated ability to present analyses, compliance performance  results and actionable recommendations to business and technical teams
  • Strong project management skills, with ability to collaboratively manage multiple work streams involving different stakeholders, partners, and groups
  • Proficiency in SQL, Looker, Snowflake, DBT, as well as data analytics and visualization  tools, such as Tableau and I2. 
  • Proficiency in enterprise BSA/AML compliance software and tools for onboarding,  watchlist and adverse media screening, transaction monitoring, case management, and financial crimes investigations, in addition to Asana, Google Apps, MS Office, Lucid
