Leader Name: Senior Manager, Data Analysis

As ATB’s next Data Analyst you will be a catalyst in analyzing data and insights to identify unique opportunities that will support our working and leadership teams to make decisions.

You have demonstrated exceptional talent in identifying various sources of data, analyzing vast volumes of data and turning that into digestible information. You will also train team members to improve their data literacy and create measurements and dashboards which will help the XO (Experience Office) be successful in our short and medium term outcomes on our way to supporting the delivery of ATB’s 2030 strategy.

Strategic Insights & Decision Support sits at the intersection of business teams, Data Analytics and Data Engineering. It is responsible for bringing robust, efficient, and integrated data models, frameworks and analysis to life. Our team, Strategic Insights & Decision Support, speaks the language of business and technical teams, and are able to translate data insights and analysis needs into models powered by our Enterprise Data Platform. The successful candidate is able to blend business acumen with technical expertise and transition between business strategy, data operations and insight development.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with team members to collect business requirements, define successful analytics outcomes, and design data models
  • Create, maintain and update relevant documentation
  • Test, validate and create dashboards and other scalable outputs that provide XO teams with insights that can be actioned by team members;
  • Inspire a new path to data-driven possibilities that can monitor client transactional data to develop client-specific business recommendations
  • Provide input throughout all stages of a product’s lifecycle including modifications, upgrades and maintenance of the program, product or product line
  • Liaise with engineers, the product team, and business counterparts as needed
  • Lead conversations around relevant data model changes and updates
  • Support the improvement of team member digital literacy
  • Support the development and roll-out of methodologies and frameworks related to data driven decision making, benefits tracking, and data processes
  • Support the development and maintenance of an end to end data lifecycle management approach

Manage requirements related to:

  • Quality (business definitions, integrity rules, and value sets) and performance (response time, availability)
  • Data valuation to assess the value of the data that we have or have access to

Requirements

  • A strong understanding and skill-set in data analysis and data visualization (e.g. statistical analysis and Tableau or other visualization software)
  • An understanding of Python, SQL Scripting or R programing language
  • A strategic thinker with proven ability to successfully support multilevel organizations in navigating organizational complexities
  • Ability to analyze a complex situation and derive workable actions
  • An innate ability to influence and build relationships with team members, stakeholders, and partners with an ability to provide recommendations based on an understanding of motivations and individual values
  • Great communication - regularly achieve consensus amongst technical and business teams
  • Demonstrated capacity to clearly and concisely communicate complex business activities, technical requirements, and recommendations
  • A strong sense of resourcefulness with a track record of results and a proven ability to execute in a multilevel organization under tight timelines and sometimes tight budgets
  • An infectious energy with a true passion for all things innovation and a strong ability to articulate the value proposition of the role of innovation in the financial services industry
  • The ability to work with a blank slate, often times navigating in ambiguity and working to find solutions without a proven path always laid out in front of you

Core Technical Skills:

  • Experience in data and analytics skills including data cleansing, curation, harmonization and packaging, data privacy & regulation, and data reporting, visualization and & dashboarding tools
  • Understanding of Product Management - Strategic and operational roadmapping for the development of a product
  • Understanding of Agile Ways of Working (Product Management, Ceremony Facilitation, Incremental Delivery, etc.)
  • Understanding of Business Process Management - monitoring business processes and improving them over time
  • Knowledge of client Research & Journey Mapping - Planning, leading, and conducting user research and usability studies
  • Strategic Planning - Documenting and establishing direction of a vision and roadmap for a product, program or initiative
  • Additional project management skills including budget management, change management, process governance, project delivery, program and portfolio management and project risk management
  • Business fundamentals including financial management, metrics reporting, business process management, client centricity, business analysis and problem solving
  • Knowledge of Cloud based Big Data frameworks such as data lake, relational, and no-sql databases

Experience with:

  • Banking Industry Domain Knowledge (e.g., Payments, Lending, Wealth Management etc.)
  • Descriptive, Diagnostic, and Predictive Analytics and Data Visualization
  • Training others on best practices and processes in order to build our enterprise data literacy.
  • Synthesizing data to lead strategies that offered guidance and advice to team members as well as our clients
  • Application and deployment of data policies and processes and their continued enforcement to include areas such as workflow for data ingestion, data quality, data ethics, master data, metadata management, data lineage, and data catalog
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and operationalizing data based guidelines, policies, procedures and standards
