Sr. Data Analyst, Product Analytics - Remote

SpotOn is a fast-growing Point-of-Sale, marketing, loyalty, sales, and reputation tracking platform that helps customers check in to earn rewards at their favorite local businesses using our web, mobile phone, and tablet products. Business owners can use data generated by these check-ins, as well as sales data, to reach out and connect with their customers, and manage their online reputation, and experience the benefits of loyal, returning customers.

SpotOn’s data analytics team provides up-to-date, accurate data, analyses, insights and recommendations to support data-driven decision making and improve operational efficiency across SpotOn’s different departments and teams. We build our data infrastructure as a product instead of just a service, with the ability to make a significant impact on Spoton’s products, operations and business strategy.

As a Senior Data Analyst at SpotOn, you will partner with different departments and teams to make data-driven decisions that ship better products by delivering product insights and strategic recommendations based upon quantitative analysis. You will be involved in driving data-based decisions and lead initiatives to improve operational efficiency. You will be an active thought partner and subject matter expert in your data, deeply involved in new projects and all aspects of your stakeholders deliverables.

Responsibilities

  • ֱDefine and improve data structure & transformations and/or dashboards practices and processes with an emphasis on automation
  • Explore, test and bring in new technologies solving tangible business problems
  • Continuously improve business acumen and understanding of SpotOn products and business, as well as the payments industry at large
  • Partner across departments and be a trusted advisor to team members; Use an analytical perspective to inform decision making and help drive a focus on the most impactful ideas
  • Help the Product team define and measure success; Own the definition of metrics and KPIs, creating visibility across the organization
  • Navigate ambiguity of stakeholder requests and formulate hypotheses while building consensus
  • Partner with Analytics Engineering to design and implement robust data models; Understand our data collection methodologies, how our data is structured and transformed, and how metrics are defined in our analytics platform
  • Using BI tooling, construct core dashboards, visualizations, and analyses to help stakeholders monitor product health and make better decisions
  • Communicate insights to stakeholders distilling complex analysis into accessible learnings; Deliver effective presentations to influence multiple levels of stakeholders
  • Be a driving influencer on the use and application of analysis; deliver what’s needed, and show what’s possible; Be an advocate for analytics by educating and advocating for data driven decision making

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in quantitative major (Finance, Economics, Math, Computer Science) or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of data analytics experience, preferably for SaaS or payments companies
  • Experience using BI visualization tools like Metabase, Looker, Power BI or Tableau
  • Foundational understanding of data modeling best practices (dbt and version control)
  • Experience with a modern data warehouse like Snowflake, Big Query, Redshift or Firebolt
  • SQL proficiency and comfortable using it to query very large data sets
  • Strong business understanding and experience with financial KPIs and sales funnel metrics. 
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to prioritize. 
  • Able to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders
  • Team player with collaborative approach to work

Our base pay range starts at $90,000 -$110,000 for this role. Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan. Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience.
