About the Team:
AlphaSense Marketing is a revenue, pipeline and customer focused marketing team that encompasses demand generation, product marketing, corporate communications, PR / AR, brand, customer marketing / education, content marketing, and events. At our core, we’re here to support AlphaSense’s growth and the success of our customers, which we do by contributing to pipeline and revenue; developing a brand that’s widely known to the markets we serve; and driving product adoption and deep engagement.
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced Data Analyst to join the Marketing team and develop robust analytics capabilities in close collaboration with our Data & Analytics organization.
Who You Are:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant work experience in marketing analytics or business intelligence
- Master of Arts or Master of Science in mathematics, statistics, economics or other quantitative discipline preferred
- Track record of successfully:
- Building relationships with functions outside of marketing, such as BI, sales and product
- Using analytics to move business metrics
- Managing projects with multiple workstreams
- Communicating cross-functionally
- Enhancing the perception and use of analytics
- Platform knowledge, including:
- Common web analytics solutions (e.g., Google Analytics, SEM Rush) and Adtech platforms (e.g. Google, DemandBase, Adobe, MediaMath, Adform)
- Common business intelligence tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau)
- Sales & Marketing technology (e.g. Salesforce, Marketo, Bizible, Outreach)
- Experience developing, implementing and determining business impact through various approaches to analysis and use of tools, including:
- Multitouch, algorithmic attribution models and media mix modeling, understanding typical approaches, methods, challenges and output of models
- Common spreadsheet applications (e.g., Excel), including pivot tables and charting
- Industry-specific measurement methods, such as customer lifetime value, propensity-to-buy and propensity-to-churn
- Testing methodologies, including A/B, multivariate and multiarmed bandit algorithms
- Editing databases and performing queries (e.g., SQL, Access, Python), and working with data warehouses and other relational database storage environments
- Incorporating offline and external online (e.g., CRM) data into digital marketing campaign analysis
- Developing custom approaches to complex measurement challenges such as video, social and content marketing
What You’ll Do:
- Define key metrics that embody underlying business drivers
- Identify and enhance data collection and analysis processes, and quantitative models
- Define the Marketing team's support model for different marketing stakeholders to ensure sufficient support of analytics needs
- Outline measurement plans for comprehensive, multichannel marketing programs and campaigns
- Design and implement automated and actionable dashboards and reports
- Elevate the role data plays within marketing and across the enterprise:
- Partner with the Data & Analytics organization to provide appropriate data feeds and integrations to the company’s Core Data Platform, enabling a single source of truth and the combination of marketing data with other key parts of the data estate: Product/Content Engagement, Sales, Finance, etc.
- Participate in AlphaSense’s internal Data Governance Council framework across the enterprise with other data stewards, owners, and custodians as appropriate
- Act as a data “sense-maker” for stakeholders, ensuring data and insights are communicated effectively in a way that is tailored and contextualized to the target audience
- Develop an understanding of the ROI of marketing analytics
- Support marketing optimization initiatives, including:
- Development of test and learn plans
- Target audience segmentations
- Calculating ROI across search, display, mobile, social and offline marketing channels
