About the Position

For this role, we're looking for a data scientist who will assist our Legal team in analytics, focusing on ensuring operational excellence and compiling data for regulatory reporting. You will report to the Sr. Program Manager of Legal and work closely with many other Legal team stakeholders. Your role on the team is to level up the understanding and capabilities of our Intellectual Property Operations (IP Ops) team and Legal Privacy team to help them gain better insights and inform better decision making from the available data. In addition, the Legal team is required to submit various regulatory reports to government agencies. The reports require compiling specific data points as required by law.  In a typical week or month, you will manage data instrumentation, dashboard/report building, metrics reviews, and ad hoc analysis. 

You Will:

  • Advise on privacy product rollouts to ensure we are driving statistically significant results and drawing scientifically sound conclusions.
  • Work with engineers and management to identify process improvement opportunities, propose system modifications, and devise data governance strategies. 
  • Perform analysis of user-generated content, model-generated output, and human reviewed actions to aid in the understanding of different surfaces of data pertaining to copyright at Twitch 
  • Identify key data variables from business events and logic to drive managerial and legal operations decision-making around statistical prevalence, prioritization, and trends in Twitch’s content landscape.
  • Using statistical tools to identify, analyze, and interpret patterns and trends in complex data sets that could be helpful for the diagnosis and prediction
  • Build a reporting function and design the data structure for reporting from legal operational processes.
  • Establish analytical framework for your team: ad-hoc analysis, automated dashboards, and self-service reporting tools to surface key data to stakeholders
  • Tackle complex and ambiguous analysis projects, and identify the trade-offs between privacy risks, business objectives, and alignment with Amazon and partners.
  • Prepare reports for management stating trends, patterns, and predictions using relevant data

You Have:

  • Technical background and programming experience
  • R/Python experience
  • Experience building data products
  • Passion about privacy in online communities, games, and Twitch

Contract Length: 9 months

The pay range for this position in Colorado and Connecticut is $90 - $100 hourly; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This information is provided per the Colorado Equal Pay Act and CT House Bill Number 6380. Base pay information is based on market location.
