Exabeam’s data science team is responsible for performing forward-looking research in algorithms for Exabeam’s next generation security information analytics system on the cloud.  The team is also responsible for prototyping and implementing critical data science-centric components and services for production. 
As an experienced developer, you will be working in the data science team, co-architecting, prototyping, implementing, and supporting existing and new analytics deployments.  You either have some prior data science background or are mathematically inclined to learn to work with the data scientists.  You will take ownership in developing features and subsystems using Exabeam’s cloud-based technology stack, and participate in all aspects of product definition and continued system improvements.   
We are looking for a strong developer who has an interest in learning and working with data science topics and cares about producing clean, elegant, maintainable, readable, robust, and well-tested code; you enjoy collaborating with others to come up collectively with the best possible solution in performance, scalability, and reliability. 

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop data science components and cloud-based services in Python or Java, addressing issues in scalability, speed, and cost.
  • Participate in or conduct machine learning research, build prototypes, and develop codes on path to production. 
  • Produce clean, elegant, maintainable, robust and well-tested code
  • Contribute to design decisions and collaborate with team members.
  • Handle internal or external customer issues and assist with troubleshooting sessions

Requirements

  • 2-5+ years experience in software engineering.  Java language.   Cloud environment.
  • M.S. or higher in Computer Science or related disciplines. 
  • Experience with distributed data processing development and multi-tenant services desired.
  • Experience with stream/batch analytics, such as Apache Beam, Flink is good.   Experience with GCP Dataflow for data processing is desired.
  • Experience building complex systems with high performance, scalability and reliability requirements strongly preferred
  • Past data science education or research experience is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills.
