As a Cloud Data Modeler/Data Analyst, you will design, implement, and document data architecture and data modeling solutions, which include the use of relational, dimensional, and NoSQL databases. These solutions support enterprise information management, business intelligence, machine learning, data science, and other business interests.

The successful candidate will:

Be responsible for the development of the conceptual, logical, and physical data models, the implementation of RDBMS, operational data store (ODS), data marts, and data lakes on target platforms (SQL/NoSQL).

Oversee and govern the expansion of existing data architecture and the optimization of data query performance via best practices. The candidate must be able to work independently and collaboratively.

Requirements

Required:

  • 3+ years of relevant technology consulting or industry experience to include experience in Cloud-based data modeling, Information delivery, Analytics and Business Intelligence based on data
  • 3+ years’ experience in Python and/or R
  • 3+ years’ experience in SQL
  • 3+ years’ experience PySpark
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with data core modernization and data ingestion
  • 1+ years’ experience leading workstreams or small teams
  • Experience with Cloud using Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure, and/or Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
  • Knowledge of Health IT preferred knowledge of CMS (Centers for Medicare and Medicaid)
  • Experience with modern paradigms of metadata management
  • Working knowledge of PySpark-based data movement
  • Working knowledge of modern metadata frameworks such as Amundsen, Apache Spark
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience

Preferred:

  • Understanding of the benefits of data warehousing, data architecture, data quality processes, data warehousing design and implementation, table structure, fact and dimension tables, logical and physical database design, data modeling, reporting process metadata, and ETL processes.
  • Experience designing and implementing reporting and visualization for unstructured and structured data sets
  • Experience designing and developing data cleansing routines utilizing typical data quality functions involving standardization, transformation, rationalization, linking and matching
  • Knowledge of data, master data and metadata related standards, processes, and technology
  • Experience working with multi-Terabyte data sets
  • Experience with Data Integration on traditional and Hadoop environments
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presentation skills (MS Visio, MS PowerPoint)
  • Preferred: Experience supporting government customers
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload based on the needs of the client
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and frequent changes in priorities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent technical writing skills and proven experience on systems with complex requirements
  • Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills with the ability to team with others to meet project objectives
  • Understanding of the system development lifecycle as implemented with Agile; SAFe knowledge a plus


THIS POSITION REQUIRES RESIDENCY IN MARYLAND OR NORTHERN VIRGINIA and is PARTIAL REMOTE 2 DAYS A WEEK. THIS POSITION IS NOT ELIGIBLE FOR A FULL REMOTE SCHEDULE.
