BI Developer

Role You will play a key role in the delivery of our Data Team Roadmap. We are building our first cloud-based Data Warehouse. You will be key to this project, working with the Data Engineering Lead and wider team and UI/UX Consultant to design the reports. As we make the shift to Azure, you will be at the forefront of this transition, giving you the opportunity to help shape Star’s cloud deployment strategy.  You will be working alongside our data engineers on our new Data Warehouse and Reporting platform. Developed on Snowflake and ThoughtSpot it provides a centralized reporting and dashboard experience to our clients. The dashboards are designed to highlight potential risks to our clients based on their employees’ behavior against their financial compliance policies. We are looking for someone who can help us give this insight to our clients by designing and creating visualizations of their data. Star has a culture of continuous learning and improvement. We invest heavily in training of our engineers through Pluralsight and industry-relevant certifications.

Responsibilities

• A proven track record delivering BI as part of a large / complex project
• Experience in data warehouse design
• Experience of BI tools such as Power BI or Tableau
• Data visualization and presentation
• Solid SQL skills
• Enthusiastic and passionate about technology
• Self-organization, effective planner and motivated
• Strong interpersonal skills, working with internal technical staff and stakeholders
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem resolution skills
• Ability to investigate and evaluate new technologies
• Coaching and mentoring

Desirable Skills●       Experience of Thoughtspot dashboards●       Cloud experience and certifications (Azure, AWS, GCP)●       Experience of Snowflake cloud data warehouse●       Experience of using message queues●       Experience of Agile & Scrum●       Experience of scripting (e.g. PowerShell or Python)●       Experience defining, implementing or supporting software in financial services industry
