The essence of the role

The Sinch Data Platform powers data driven product features, machine learning, business intelligence and analytics across Sinch. We operate this platform in several locations around the world, processing billions of events per day—the sun never sets on the Sinch Data Platform.

We are now looking for a Senior Data Engineer to help take this platform to the next level. We think you are an experienced engineer with a track record of building data platforms, but most important is that you have strong interest in cloud native data technologies and are eager to accelerate other teams using them.

As our new Senior Data Engineer, you will:

• Actively contribute to the platform engineering team’s day-to-day software development and troubleshooting work
• Assist in breaking down epics and stories into task and plan the development work
• Collaboratively, and continuously, strive to improve the quality and performance of the data platform
• Coach more junior engineers on the team
• Promote engineering excellence
  

Who are you?

You will be working in the platform engineering team day-to-day and it’s important that you enjoy software development, troubleshooting, and coaching more junior engineers. You use your experience and curiosity to create robust solutions in the data engineering space. We believe that you have a cloud native mindset with a “cattle not pets” attitude to data infrastructure.

In order to contribute to this role, you have:

• Significant software engineering experience (5+ years)
• Experience with cloud scale data processing and data storage challenges, ideally Snowflake or BigQuery, and Kafka
• Experience of cloud scale integrations with different tooling to process large volumes of data
• Experience with operationalizing Data Infrastructure
• Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
