About You

As a lead data analyst for the Finance team, you will be working closely with the CFO and the Head of Analytics to shape the strategy and decision making  through the right data models, Intelligence,insights and analytical projects. You will be closely working with other teams in the data organisation viz. Data Engineering, BI and Data science to meet the business needs through effective internal engagement. You will start as an Individual contributor role having a lot of visibility and impact on business and financial metrics and in future can lead a small team of talented insight analysts.

This role will suit an individual who is passionate about data but at the same time understands business very well.

Some of the things you’ll be doing: 

  • Developing SQL code and build dbt models to interrogate our data to solve key business problems
  • Building various decision making models for strategic decision making eg. optimization models, forecasting models, Customer cohort modelling etc.
  • Taking ownership of various data requirements for analysis for the finance and executive team, Logics for computations and key metrics
  • Driving various monetization initiatives in partnership with the product managers and finance team
  • Developing business cases that incorporate the financial benefit of various customer behaviours and the potential return on investment from various initiatives and new products 
  • Owning the relationship with stakeholders with a bias towards action
  • Managing cross-team and technical projects from inception to delivery
  • Prioritising the tasks and engagements to ensure stakeholder satisfaction as well as maximum business results
  • Training business stakeholders and internal data dojo members of all levels on creating their own dashboards and analytics best practices. 
  • Leading a team of Insight Analyst to help to improve decisions Tideans make using data 
  • Working with Snowflake, dbt, Apache Airflow, Python, Fivetran, AWS, git and Looker

You’ll be a great fit if:

  • You are hands on data analyst who loves to work with finance and strategy stakeholders to drive organisational impact
  • You have excellent communication skills and the ability to understand complex requirements 
  • You have set the bar high when it comes to turnaround time of requirements and projects while taking care of the quality of deliverables
  • You have worked closely with the CXOs preferably in a startup environment
  • You have excellent SQL Proficiency - You’re good at quickly getting a grasp of any dataset that you're working with & support other analyst to do so
  • Preferrably, you have experience in using Python/R or other statistical programming languages
  • You are good at connecting dots- what data and insights will be needed to solve the problems for present and also build scalable and reusable models for future 
  • You quickly identify which business or financial metrics are relevant for an area and anticipate which projects/data/analysis will add value
  • You have the ability to effectively form relationships with the business in order to help with the adoption of data driven decision making 
  • You have strong data visualisation skills, including knowledge of self-serve tools like Looker, Tableau or similar
  • You’re a self-starter - you take initiative in spotting opportunities and finding ways to solve challenges with data
  • You have the ability to deal with ambiguity and competing objectives in a fast paced environment

A note on the future of work at Tide:

Tide’s offices are beginning to open for Tideans to return on a voluntary basis. Timelines for reopening will be unique for each region and will be based on region-specific guidelines. The health and well-being of Tideans and candidates is our primary concern, therefore, for the foreseeable future, we have transitioned all interviews and onboarding to be conducted via Zoom.

Once offices are fully open, Tideans will be able to choose to work from the office or remotely, with the requirement that they visit the office or participate in face-to-face team activities several times per month.
