What you will do

The Attribute Data Analyst contributes to the maintenance of the Product Intelligence CPG library through the research, creation, and classification of product attributes. In addition, the Attribute Data Analyst simplifies product content into relevant product attributes that power SPINS applications and programs for greater insight into the health & wellness industry.

In this role, you will use various content product information from diverse sources to research and classify attributes and taxonomies in the Product Intelligence library. You will develop knowledge in market trends and be comfortable utilizing and maintaining a database using simple coding language. You will maintain taxonomies (product attributes, claims, certification, product information, product classifications) and product databases, helping to maintain the most accurate product attribute content to meet scheduled content deliveries under quality procedures, industry and regulatory standards.

You will interact with a variety of team members data operations, data quality, customer support, and fellow content team members. You need to be be self-motivated, inquisitive, and agile with a willingness to learn the business and comfortable in a data-driven setting. Having a passion for health & wellness is a plus.

  • Research and classify UPC product information for product attributes (claims, certifications, product facts, etc.) from a variety of product and content sources, including but not limited to third party data, images, SPINS business intelligence tools, and Product Intelligence databases
  • Develop and maintain product attribute classifications based on provided definitions, maintaining SPINS Product Intelligence databases with up-to-date product content
  • Assist and participate in developing and implementing SOPs for attribute, UPC, and other Product Intelligence definitions and processes.
  • Build and maintain taxonomies and product structure rules to develop new attributes according to industry, regulatory, and/or client requirements under the guidance of managers and product management.
  • Identify key themes and/or trends by monitoring and researching trends and industry matters to gain an understanding of the industry and integrate findings into attribute recommendations.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with cross-functional teams to manage and execute projects that improve SPINS UPC attribute offering, ensuring Product Intelligence needs are represented, and deadlines are observed.
  • Support management in resolving customer data issues.
  • Occasionally support the Marketing, Commercial, and Product Intelligence teams through training and subject matter expertise of the Product Intelligence portfolio or offering additional support.
  • Occasionally participate in communications with audiences directly through articles, webinars, and customer engagements.
  • Explore, participate in and support ad hoc data and other business initiatives as needed, performing product and data analysis outside of the standard framework.
  • Generate and communicate status on assigned tasks and projects in an Agile process
  • Handle competing priorities and heavy project workloads

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or a Science-related field
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a cross-functional team, working on assigned CPG products to classify for several product attributes maintained within the database
  • Self-motivated; able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment under pressure, adhering to deadlines set by the Operations Manager
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a desire to understand and use simple coding language and database infrastructure to perform their product attribute work
  • Ability to analyze raw volumes of data to perform trend analysis, product classification projects, or other projects
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

We would love if you brought

  • Minimum, one year experience, working in a data or database management role
  • Exposure to retail or consumer packaged goods data
  • Experience in data management or data operations
  • Experience/familiarity in food, dietary supplements, and/or personal care product labeling/regulatory knowledge
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with Data Visualization tools and business intelligence data applications
