If you're excited about understanding complex data sets from disparate sources and love a good mystery in answering “why”, this is the team for you. Our data science and analytics team is here to explain what happened and why, and recommend what to do for the best possible future outcomes. You’ll be working directly with our brands to evaluate performance across online and offline sales channels, including an end-to-end view of everything from stock through marketing.  You’ll be their go-to data/analytics partner and have a chance to get involved in strategy across every point of the customer journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Dive into Google Analytics to identify areas of opportunity and make recommendations on how to take advantage of them, working with key brand leaders to create actionable insights.
  • Analyze large data sets in SQL, Python or similar tools to actively monitor campaign performance and identify opportunities for top-line growth and/or efficiency gains.
  • Automate (or spec out work for dedicated developers and data scientists to automate) marketing processes including the incorporation of data into real-time decision making, e.g., bidding algorithms, data visualization, dynamic creatives, etc.
  • •Build dashboards using data visualization tools to explain/communicate marketing performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Brand and Data Science teams to ensure alignment with Amyris’ creative strategy and leverage our internal analytical capabilities.
  • Regularly update our senior executive team on marketing performance, opportunities, and testing strategy.
  • Gather data that includes sales, rankings, customer reviews, and the standing of our brands’ online competition and paid vs organic results.
  • Track, report and analyze online metrics including, but not limited to: eCommerce adverting results, purchase analysis (retention & increase purchase frequency), retailer data and annual KPIs.
  • Analyze market trends and targeted competitor products to assess changes in competitive standing. Offer recommendations for appropriate actions/corrective actions that should be taken for eCommerce growth.
  • Perform deep-dive analysis into our key KPI’s to understand the “why” of our customer’s behavior.
  • Help refine eCommerce KPIs based upon data analysis.
  • Work closely with our internal Content and Advertising leads, in addition to our Advertising Agency team, to support their efforts with meaningful metrics and predictive analysis.
  • Lead and actively participate in monthly eCommerce reporting for senior leaders and produce timely quarterly reporting.
  • Roll up your sleeves and dig into the data to drive overall performance.
  • Support internal teams on leveraging analytics to make informed business decisions.
  • Utilize tools such as Google Analytics, BigQuery, SQL and Tableu to generate reports and visual dashboards.
  • Represent Analytics Team in project meetings. Suggest ways to integrate data insights into projects to help decision-making.
  • Investigate industry leaders and provide recommendations on potential 3rd party partners.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1-4+ years of experience in analytics or quantitative practices working in data warehouse environments.
  • Comfort navigating and manipulating large data sets to identify trends and underlying drivers.
  • Advanced level knowledge of SQL.
  • Ability to complete projects in Python or R (there's a Python interview, so you'll want to know it!).
  • Ability to thrive (and preference to work) in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with frequently changing goals and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and interest in solving problems, particularly using data to help answer somewhat nebulous questions (e.g., how consumers make purchasing decisions).
  • Excellence in implementation, including attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Enthusiasm and positive energy to contribute to and thrive in a rapidly growing start-up atmosphere where roles continually adapt as the company evolves.
  • Able to translate business objectives into measurable goals and KPIs.
