Senior Machine Learning Research Engineer

Beneath a simple yet elegant user interface lies a complex system of functionalities. Our AI-powered product uses image recognition, facial comparison, and behaviour analysis to make decisions. We help our partners build onboarding processes that ensure good people get things done and bad folks get stopped. In order to take our product to the next level, we are looking for Machine Learning Research Engineers who will help us build ML systems that can perform previously impossible tasks or achieve unprecedented levels of performance (as a global benchmark, not just compared to the status quo in Veriff).

What will you be doing...

• Identifying areas of differentiation and innovation around AI-powered identity verification

• Researching and implementing highly scalable machine learning systems reaching state-of-the-art performance

• Demonstrating exceptional creativity to develop novel machine learning algorithms, models, and methods 

• Working both independently and collaboratively with other engineers and scientists to define and deliver high impact product features

Who are we looking for?

• Hold an M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field

• Are able to formulate a research problem, design, experiment, implement, and communicate solutions

• Have theoretical and applied knowledge in deep learning concepts with a special focus on computer vision

• Are able to read and implement related academic literature in deep learning and computer vision

• Have hands-on experience working with deep learning toolkits such as Tensorflow, or PyTorch

• Can effectively communicate the results and trade-offs of projects to a technical audience

• Enjoy working in a fast-paced, highly fluid, and multi-functional environment

We'd also love it if you...

• Experience with OCR, text detection, information extraction such as from documents or tables, document understanding

• Have professional industry experience in successfully delivering high-performance deep learning models
