WWC Global is a federally-focused, woman-owned management serving the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Department of State, and USAID, U.S. Agency for International Development.WWC Global is seeking a Data Scientist to support the Defense Counterintelligence and Security Agency's Background Investigations Directorate (DCSA BI). The Data Scientist will perform advanced performance data collections, analysis, modeling, and visualization.
Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to):
- Serving as the Data Scientist for data modeling and analytic testing for Background Investigations, Business Analytics Office, and will be responsible for projects assigned to include planning, piloting, and implementation to meet the goals of the timelines of the assigned initiatives as they relate to data and analytics.
- Offering expert consultation to BAO Program Manager and Team Leads for the implementation of predictive analytics via construct of data modeling and machine learning activities.
- Developing predictive models using machine learning, natural language, and statistical analysis methods such as classification, time-series analysis, regression, statistical inference, and validation tools.
- Performing exploratory data analyses, generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyze historical data, and identify patterns.
- Assessing existing and potential data transformation projects, provide subject matter expertise, and work with data teams to develop, process, and deliver advanced analytical models.
- Working with multiple data technicians, data scientists, and program analysts to assist and sustain the construction of data modeling projects.
- Providing strategic direction to analyze and evaluate portfolio performance, integration, and implementation.
- Providing technical advice on strategic issues for data modeling, data migration, integration, and utilization.
- Applying advanced mathematical techniques using a wide range of statistical methods and tools, simulation, modeling, and technical governance.
- Assisting with analytical studies by evaluating transactional data and process utilization to continuously improve the functionally of information related to data transformation.
- Working with required mission areas to transfer data extraction, user-interfaces, and model execution from external to internal environments.
- Evaluating model performance and develop and initiate plans for sustainment.
Performance location can be at Ft. Meade MD, Stafford VA, or Washington DC.
Work Environment:
- Moderate noise (i.e. business office with computers, phone and printers) and /or occasional Loud noise (airfield, large equipment).
- Ability to sit at a computer terminal for an extended period of time.
Physical Demands:

Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in an applied quantitative discipline (Mathematics, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or Analytics).
- Current, active Top Secret security clearance.
- Five (5) years of experience or equivalent working in the analytics and data science landscape combined with strong business acumen to identify, design, deploy, and sustain machine learning solutions.
- Proficiency with sophisticated analytics tools and programming languages (R, Python, FOCUS, & SQL) and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
- Demonstrated skills in analytical, evaluative, and administrative methods and techniques required to manage programs for regulatory compliance, effectiveness, and efficiency in supporting mission requirements.
- Understanding of data preparation, predictive modeling, and natural language processing.
- Ability to discuss and understand mathematical formulations, statistical methods/tools and their impacts on modeling approaches.
- Knowledge of development practices such as testing, code design, complexity, and optimization.
- Understand the measurement of model performance, sampling techniques, and problem solving.
- Ability to analyze operational situations and to identify, describe, and solve problems.
- Ability to communicate technical solutions both verbally and in writing and to pick up new programming languages.
- Outstanding communication skills, influencing abilities, and client focus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using all Microsoft Office applications.
