Job Description 

The Data Science Consultant has the following responsibilities and duties: 

  • Build and optimize machine learning predictive models
  • Perform data mining using latest practices
  • Enhance data collection to include needed information for modelling
  • Perform ad-hoc data analysis and present findings in clear manner
  • Create automated model scoring systems for self-sufficient modelling updates
  • Provide recommendations as needed to data engineering team 

Requirements

The Data Science Consultant should have the following skills, education and experience: 

 Skills    

      Required:

  • Excellent understanding of machine learning techniques and algorithms
  • Proficient with Python programming
  • Proficient with SQL programming
  • Familiar with AWS cloud storage and tools (S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, RDS, etc.)
  • Proficient with AWS Sagemaker
  • Proficient with data wrangling methodologies
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, PowerBI, ggplot, plotly, etc.
  • Familiar with ML model drift and scoring systems
  • Expert with feature engineering and model refinement
  • Familiar with A/B testing and other statistical methods
  • Excellent communication skills 

      Preferred:

  • Expert with AWS Sagemaker, CloudWatch, RDS, and other tools/technologies
  • Expert building end to end self sufficient models in cloud platform
  • Expert with model monitoring techniques and scoring
  • Proficient with various statistical methods including A/B testing
  • Familiar building APIs for modelling endpoints
  • AWS Machine Learning Specialty certification a plus 

 

Education

      Required:

  • Bachelors in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering or other related disciplines

      Preferred:

  • Masters or PhD in a quantitative field such as statistics, mathematics, computer science, computer engineering or other related disciplines 

Experience

  • An experienced professional will have at least 3 years of professional experience in a data related role with a Masters Degree or 5 years of experience in a data related role with a Bachelors degree
