Our mission is to make hourly work easier for local businesses and hourly workers. Homebase currently serves more than 100,000 small (but mighty) businesses with everything they need to manage their hourly teams: employee scheduling, time clocks, payroll, team communication, hiring, onboarding, and compliance. Just don’t call us “Human Capital Management.” We have built tools for the busiest businesses, so owners and employees can spend less time on bullsh*t and more time on what matters. The Homebase team brings small business expertise from Intuit, Square, OpenTable, Yelp, Gusto, and First Data. Homebase is backed by leading venture investors Bain Capital Ventures, Baseline Ventures, Cowboy Ventures, Khosla Ventures, Plus Capital, and GGV Capital.

You

Do you love working cross-functionally and enjoy tackling a wide range of challenges across different areas of the business (product, marketing, sales and finance)? Do you have a passion for data governance, cleanliness, and quality? If you answered yes, we have the opportunity for you! As the Senior Manager, Data Analytics you will serve as a leader at Homebase in data-driven decision making by democratizing access to data across the entire organization. A successful candidate is a collaborative self-starter who believes that reliable data insights are what inform and drive good decision-making. You are an experienced leader that has built robust data and analytics practices at rapidly scaling companies.

The Job

  • Own all aspects of data reportability: Directly enable data-driven decision making across all of Homebase by ensuring that our company metrics are measurable and reportable with clean, reliable datasets. Set the standards and best practices for how we clean and transform data across different teams and functions at the company. Define and prioritize the data roadmap.
  • Build out the data analytics organization: Identify talent needs, hire, manage, and develop a high-performing team. You'll immediately take on managing one team member and then work to identify where our gaps are and how to take data at Homebase to the next level.
  • Enable and power better Product Analytics: Plug in to cross-functional work streams, and proactively identify and execute on opportunities to streamline reporting and analysis for product managers across several different business lines. Develop and refine a working cadence between partner teams like Data Engineering and Biz Ops to tackle end-to-end data projects.
  • Scale data self-service across the company: Own the tools, process, and “go-to-market” strategies for how internal data consumers across the company interact with our data, including data self-serve tools like Looker, and our data mart curated in DBT. Socialize and ensure consistency around data hierarchy and definitions, and drive enablement and educational efforts
  • Improve our data collection and quality processes: Identify and implement ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, comprehensiveness, and quality by examining causes of data discrepancies and gaps. Work with cross-functional partners to address these gaps through a combination of technology and process.

This role is a rare opportunity to have visibility across a rapidly growing startup and to play a key role in multiple projects critical to scaling the business. The size of our team and stage of our growth means you will have your hands in a variety of unique challenges, and impact the lives of millions of hourly workers.
