As a Data Engineer on the MDM team at Recorded Future, you will become a key teammate working to solve tough data problems.  The MDM team takes ownership over a vast amount of our internal business data, implementing crucial capabilities and manipulating our data structures to obtain solutions and insights. What you build will enable Recorded Future to grow faster and enable better data practices throughout the company.

This is a full time opportunity.

What you’ll do as a Data Engineer:

  • Build new ETL pipelines to extract data from our key business systems and load it into our Amazon Redshift data warehouse.
  • Spend time improving the Amazon Redshift database performance, and help us stay up to date on all best practices.
  • Explore our data assets to prototype new use cases and capabilities to recognize even more value from our internal data.

What you need to succeed as a Data Engineer:

  • Python programming: You are comfortable exploring and automating data operations within python scripts.
  • Database Skills: You enjoy working to make your databases more performant for all users, and are comfortable testing out ideas in staging before pushing changes to production.
  • Data Pipelines: You love working with heterogeneous data to answer real human questions, and you know how to write the code that makes that happen. Familiarity with ETL Tools such as SnapLogic are a plus here, as you’ll be using them to initially gain access, collect, and store from many sources.
  • Curiosity: You want to understand how the data you work with is used and get to know a new codebase.
  • Excellent communication: Your clarity of thought is always apparent in your crisp and articulate emails, Slack chats, phone calls, and in-person conversations. You ask questions to better understand the context around your work and what you need to do to be successful.
