Data Architect, Exchange

Job Summary:We are looking for a hands-on data architect for OpenX’s team in Krakow, Poland. He or she will work with the product managers and engineering teams to design and implement consistent and cost-effective data processing and reporting systems for our Exchange. Additionally, he or she will continue to modernize the design and implementation of the existing Exchange data pipeline while taking advantage of cloud-native services offered in GCP. This person will be successful as a result of excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work with a variety of stakeholders, a willingness to prototype potential solutions, and a focus on solving the right problems with the right technology.
The ideal candidate is a person who takes ownership, dives deep into topics, and thinks independently. Lastly, this person knows how to succeed in a dynamic environment and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get the job done. 

What you will do

• Work with the Exchange Data Team on the design and implementation of new features.
• Document and communicate designs and design decisions.
• Take ownership of the data and reporting architecture for OpenX’s ad exchange.
• Work with the product owners to help assess the level of effort and cost for projects.
• Build consensus and drive execution.
• Stay abreast of technology advances to identify opportunities for improvement.

What you need to be successful

• Experience working at scale with AWS or GCP.
• Five or more years of hands-on development experience in Java or Scala.
• Experience running batch and streaming data processing jobs at scale (Hadoop, Spark).
• Experience with Avro, Thrift, Protobuff, or equivalent.
• Experience with data warehousing technologies.
• A creative, proactive, self-starter.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Communicative English (spoken and written).
• Computer Science degree or equivalent experience.
• Experience with GCP data processing/storing solutions (DataFlow, BigQuery, etc).
• Experience with Apache Beam. * Experience working with a Data Science team.
• Success driving and executing global projects.
• Experience with products built on data, and/or high volume and/or machine learning is a plus.
• AdTech Experience.
