The Role
Our Commercial Technology Architecture team advises pre-commercial, small/medium and large Life Sciences customers to devise the right technology strategy and architecture to help their broader commercial business accomplish their strategic goals. As a Data Architect, you will:- Help customers drive more value from their data assets by structuring their data/information within a framework/context that helps them achieve their goals.- Create data architecture, assess data quality, formulate data strategy, and design scalable data management, quality, and integration solutions. - Develop trust with customers and help them establish priorities, define a roadmap, and work with Veeva and other vendors so they can realize that vision.- Engage customers to explore innovative ways of using data to improve their business outcomes
This is a work anywhere, full-time permanent role with Veeva. Our work processes are designed so that you can be productive in the environment that works best for you. This is a customer-facing role and we have no work location requirement if you are in close proximity to an airport and able to meet future travel requirements (up to 40%). What You'll Do

  • Work with customers, Veeva Senior Information Architect, Veeva Domain Architects and other vendors to assess current state, co-create a future state and drive development of the data architecture roadmap to meet customers’ current and future needs
  • Develop database architecture for customers’ solutions, choosing the appropriate database technologies based on the requirements of each customer
  • Help our customers drive evergreen strategies for key foundational data capabilities (e.g., Master Data Management, Metadata Management, Data Quality, etc.)
  • Analyze multiple sources of structured and unstructured data to propose and design data architecture solutions for scalability, high availability, fault tolerance, and elasticity
  • Architect, design and implement high performance large volume data integration processes, database, storage, and other back-end services in hybrid cloud environments
  • Advocate data security and the appropriate use of information and data within the target information and data architecture
  • Support Commercial Architecture leadership to develop reusable data architecture, MDM and Data Quality assets

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience designing, implementing, and/or supporting data/information architecture and analytic platforms (data warehouse, data hub, ETL/transformations, and/or Business Intelligence) satisfying complex information needs
  • 1+ years of consulting experience
  • Experience working with data warehouses, data lakes, and other data platforms in a Cloud and On-Premise environment
  • Experience in MDM tools like Reltio, Informatica and Veeva Network
  • Exceptional data analysis skills leveraging SQL or Python
  • Experience with Data Modeling and Data Lifecycle including data quality, lineage and traceability
  • Good collaboration, listening, written and verbal communication skills with ability to facilitate technology strategy, requirements and architecture conversations with all stakeholders (management, business users, and technology resources)

Nice to Have

  • Experience implementing BioPharma Commercial Sales & Marketing related IT and technology solutions
  • Experience with Veeva Commercial Cloud
  • Hands on experience working across NoSQL, RDBMS and data stores such as AWS Redshift, MySQL, SQL Server, DynamoDB
