Role Overview:
PlayStation® is for The Players. With over 120 Million customers in 109 countries, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is committed to using data to understand The Players: our customers, better than anyone else. We’re on a journey to use these data to create more predictive assets and establish Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) models that can be used across the SIE organisation to validate commercial decision making, benchmark across geographies and retailers to optimise and improve our profitability.
Global Sales and Business Operations (GSBO) has recently re-organised and we’re adding more focus and resource to CLV development The individual will work within a dedicated global CLV development team and be pivotal to achieving the integration of CLV across the wider organisation.
What you’ll be doing:
- Working in a specialised team creating a Centre of Excellence for Customer Lifetime Value (CLV) within GSBO
- Transform a business question into a series of analysis, gather the data via SQL/MicroStrategy, process it via Excel and prepare a presentation to explain your insights. Under supervision and support of Senior team members
- Document the use cases and terminology of CLV consistently
- Improve and create new reporting of CLV in a consistent “branded” format, and ensure its effectively socialised across the organisation
- Analysing CLV measures across GSBO and working with wider partner groups to look for areas of improvement
- Be an ambassador for CLV across the wider analyst community
- Work to design new ways of thinking, challenge the current status quo, push analytics boundaries
- To dive into our wealth of data to identify CLV insights & trends across geographies, cohorts, retailers, and products
- Help with the specifications of standardised reporting, dashboards and insights that help the business make better informed, smarter, and effective decisions
- Producing data-driven, insightful, storytelling presentations to senior stakeholders.
- Work with analyst teams across the business to enhance the teams’ capabilities, share best practices and build a strong analyst community
- Support our analyst community and sales teams with their CLV data needs
What we’re looking for:
- 3+ years experience working in data analysis roles
- Excellent SQL / Excel skills
- Experience with visualisation and database interrogation tools (e.g. MicroStrategy, SQL, Looker, Tableau, etc)
- High level of analytic capability and exceptional problem-solving skills
- Commercially minded people who are willing to question the status quo
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- Clear, concise, and commercially data driven storytelling through visualisations
- Ability to self-manag

- The ability act as a motivated, reliable, self-starter who uses initiative to work proactively
- Intellectual bandwidth to handle multiple partners across geographies and functional specialisms.
- An ability to run multiple tasks and projects – precision, accuracy, and very good attention to detail crucial
- Relationship builder, who can communicate at different levels of the organisation effectively.
- Effective communication skills – being an influencing and occasionally persuasive person
- A natural aptitude for learning and understanding multiple systems and tools
- Able to identify and develop opportunities to improve, innovate and/or pioneer new ways of working through continuous process improvement practices
