Role Overview:
Do you want to join a Machine Learning team committed to personalizing the PlayStation experience for millions of users? The work we do delivers impactful insights to build an increasingly dynamic and interactive experience! The Data Scientist within the platform engineering group will design and build models that deliver optimized interactions across PlayStation experiences.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about building delightful products and experiences for millions, in an agile environment, collaborating with teams across Engineering, Product and Design. Further, you will help shape our ML technologies, tools and processes, as you help to advance our technical objectives and architectural initiatives.
What you’ll be doing:
- Apply advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to build relevant and performant models in an industry setting
- Analyze constantly-changing, complex, high-volume, high-dimensional and sparse data
- Measure business performance and model performance through offline and online evaluation (A/B tests)
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, Machine Learning engineers and software engineers in a cross functional scrum team
- Work with engineers to utilize and improve in-house solutions that support model development, production, and usage
What we are looking for:
- Masters’ degree or PhD in statistics, machine learning or a relevant technical field
- Deep theoretical and applied understanding of Bayesian or frequentist statistics, data mining techniques, and/or machine learning techniques
- Proficiency in using query languages
- Ability to code effectively in python
- Experience in statistics, Big Data tools and distributed computing (Hive, Spark, Presto)
- Experience in experimentation design and interpretation
- Experience or interest in Deep-learning-based recommendation systems is a plus
- Experience or interest in Gaming Industry is a plus
