Role Overview:

PlayStation® is for The Players. With over 120 Million customers in 109 countries, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is committed to using data to understand The Players: our customers, better than anyone else. With so much data at our disposal, the team’s role is to centralise the KPI reporting across the division to ensure senior stakeholders and relevant analyst specialist have the data at their fingertips.

Global Sales and Business Operations has recently re-organised and we’re adding more focus and resource to CLV and predictive analytics & insights. You will be working across two teams dedicated to these functions and helping with the increase in sophistication of the teams analytical capabilities.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Utilize linear/logistic regression, as well as decision trees, propensity score matching, and clustering to study device/account behaviour
  • Independently extract and integrate data from multiple data systems (including writing complex SQL queries) to support analytical efforts.
  • Help with the development of ML models to forecast primary console demand on a 5 year horizon
  • Provide thought-leadership in on-going improvements to analytics capabilities and move the company more towards predictive and prescriptive modelling. Identify new ideas and opportunities for analytic projects

What we’re looking for: 

  • Experience working in a business intelligence, marketing analysis, business and/or financial management role focusing on commercial tasks, preferably within the e-commerce space
  • Experience using statistical packages (R or Python) for model development
  • Business model development and forecasting abilities
  • In-depth understanding and experience using supervised and non-supervised learning techniques such as linear/logistic regression, clustering, decision trees, association analysis. Well versed in model validation techniques such as cross validation, bootstrapping, and out-of-sample testing
  • Experience with standard BI Tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, etc.)
  • Expert user of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) in order to prepare all documents, presentations, tables, briefings, and worksheets. Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with the PlayStation Network

  • Intellectual bandwidth to manage multiple stakeholders across geographies and functional specialisms.
  • An ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with a keen eye for detail – precision, accuracy, and very good attention to detail essential
  • Relationship builder, who can communicate at different levels of the organisation effectively.
  • Effective communication skills – being an influencing and occasionally persuasive person
  • A natural aptitude for learning and understanding multiple systems and tools
  • Able to identify and develop opportunities to improve, innovate and/or pioneer new ways of working through continuous process improvement practices
