AnaVation’s Law Enforcement Account is seeking an experienced Lead Data Architect to develop transformative data solutions for an important new customer. Drawing upon your background in data analysis, systems architecture, and software development, you will serve as thought leader, subject matter expert, data and system architect, technical team leader, hands-on technical contributor, senior customer interface, and touchpoint to the wider AnaVation leadership team. AnaVation has deep corporate expertise developing innovative cloud and big data systems to improve performance and mission success for our customers. The selected candidate for this position will reach back to expertise throughout the company to bring our accumulated corporate knowledge and experience to bear. 
Responsibilities:·        Conduct thorough requirements analysis to understand mission objectives and existing system attributes·        Develop “as is” and “to be” architecture and plan·        Lead and mentor team members to implementation of plan, and contribute to completion of technical objectives ·        Design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components of solutions·        Ensure quality delivery of software through testing and reviews ·        Possess basic understanding of relevant technical principles, theories, and concepts ·        Regularly engage with stakeholders (Customer, Prime, AnaVation) and keep them apprised of progress and plans·        The candidate will be capable of taking on technically challenging problems and applying engineering best practices to produce reliable, well documented products·        The ideal candidate will possess an understanding of prior AnaVation experience, frameworks, and solutions in the big data management domain 

Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing successful data management solutions in customer environments
  • Experience with data ingest, indexing, configuration, and workflows for large data sets
  • Experience with software development projects involving multiple developers, including working with IDEs and generating code documentation
  • Ability to work on multiple OS platforms; including Linux and Windows
  • Knowledge of Git or equivalent version control systems
  • Familiarity in using issue tracking software (i.e. JIRA)
  • Ability to formulate and articulate a technical vision and plan
  • Ability to obtain a High Risk MBI (moderate background investigation)

Desired Qualifications

  • 1+ years of specific experience with development in one or more programming or scripting languages
  • Experience implementing best practices for software development, including stakeholder involvement, Agile development using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, DevSecOps, and microservices architecture
  • Experience with cloud concepts and big data architectures such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Kafka, etc. 
  • Knowledge of Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery tools and practices
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana and the Elastic Common Schema
  • Experience with microservices
  • Experience with Bash or Powershell scripting
  • Experience with Data Science and AI services
  • Experience with solutions for role-based access
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Containerd, etc.)
