AnaVation’s Law Enforcement Account is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to develop transformative data solutions for an important new customer. Apply your strong background in data engineering to this exciting project! 
Responsibilities:·        Leverage knowledge of data engineering and software development to develop technical solutions ·        Design, implement, schedule, test, and deploy full features and components ·        Ensure quality delivery of software through testing and reviews ·        Possess basic understanding of relevant technical principles, theories, and concepts ·        Employ analytic methodologies to identify patterns and relationships in data ·        Make recommendations on standards for a common data model and harmonization of common data elements·        Review and assess efficacy of data model following implementation of recommendations·        Work as part of technical team to develop integrated outcomes

Required Qualifications

  • Experience developing and implementing successful data management solutions
  • Experience with software development projects
  • Experience with data normalization/harmonization 
  • Experience analyzing unstructured and semi-structured data, including entity identification and tagging, and data normalization/harmonization
  • Experience with software development, including as an open-source enterprise software development stack (Java/Linux/Ruby/Python)
  • Knowledge of Git or equivalent version control systems
  • Familiarity in using issue tracking software (i.e. JIRA)
  • Ability to obtain a High Risk MBI (moderate background investigation)

Desired Qualifications

  • Strong technical and computational skills, coupled with the ability relate data to use cases, mission requirements, and end-user experience
  • Experience using best practices for software development, including Agile development using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) methodology, DevSecOps, and microservices architecture
  • Understanding of data handling and data privacy rules, regulations, and policies (including PII, HIPAA, etc.)
  • Experience with data ingest, indexing, configuration, and workflows for large data sets
  • Understanding of enterprise-level data analysis, machine-learning, operations research, modeling, and business/mission intelligence tools
  • Experience developing, implementing, integrating, and evaluating federal data architecture-related projects
  • Experience with Elasticsearch, Kibana and the Elastic Common Schema
  • Experience in visualization of large-scale analysis and presentation of data
  • Experience with big data architectures such as Hadoop, Accumulo, Kafka, etc. 
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS
  • Experience with microservices
  • Experience using advanced tools and computational skills to interpret, connect, predict, and make discoveries in complex data and deliver recommendations for business and analytic decisions 
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Containerd, etc.)
  • 1+ years of specific experience with development in one or more programming or scripting languages
