We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Glasgow office in a full time role on a permanent basis.  We currently operate on a hybrid model, working from the office 1 day per week and remotely for the remaining 4 days. Our Glasgow office is based in the Clockwise Tower on Renfrew Street

Phlo is an online pharmacy aiming to empower patients by giving them full control of their healthcare. Using our app, patients can manage, order and track their prescriptions and benefit from same-day, real-time deliveries.

This role is suited to an experienced Analytics Engineer who enjoys multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

The Job

On a day-to-day basis, you’ll be involved in the following:

  • Working with Phlo’s Modern Data Stack infrastructure to design, develop and maintain data pipelines, platforms and components.  
  • Automating manual tasks such as data extraction and upload, cleansing and transforming data to align with internal governance standards.  
  • Using expert software engineering skills and SQL, Python, Airbyte, Airflow, dbt, BigQuery, github and other tooling to deliver data-driven outcomes
  • Managing your day-to-day tasks and deliverables and working constructively in the team.
  • Supporting data analytics projects.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for leveraging company data and insights. 
  • Positively influencing the design of in-house data collection systems and data analytics strategies

Requirements

The Person

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with the following:

  • Coder, as a technical expert, you’ll know your SQL, Python, Docker, and the infrastructure they run on, and rely on, inside out
  • Engineer, as you’ll be building, maintaining and troubleshooting data pipelines and the platforms that they run on, taking great satisfaction from your machines doing the right things the right way accurately, reliably and robustly
  • Architect, as in your head, you’ll have a mental model of all of the moving parts in our data stack, and know where to reach in to pull the right levers to produce what’s needed, and where you want to take things next
  • Problem solver, you’ll face technical challenges daily that you’ll want to turn into efficient, elegant and repeatable solutions
  • Meticulous attention to detail, as you’ll ensure the accuracy of our datasets and the robustness of our platform and our automated processes
  • Team member, as you’ll know that people can trust you to do your thing well, and in return you can trust them to do theirs and holding each other to account is healthy
  • Forward-looking, you’ll keep an eye on what’s coming down the line
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and working at pace
