About the Role:

The Team:

Industry & Company Data (ICD) under the Data & Insights (DI) business-line focuses on the development, marketing, GTM, monetization, and overall success of creating and selling datasets as marketable, relevant products. Product Managers own their specific datasets and with support from the ICD leadership team, are responsible for the revenue growth generated from their datasets. Our team works collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders within SPGI to position our products to help solve customer problems and enhance other product offerings.


Responsibilities and Impact:

As a Product Manager for company fundamentals on the ICD team, your focus will be on growing this important suite of products, which includes Compustat®, S&P Capital IQ, and Private Company Fundamentals. This includes engaging with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for improving our company fundamentals offerings, finding areas of growth, and addressing client workflow needs to maximize the value clients receive from these offerings. You will implement product strategy to drive revenue by working directly with Clients, Sales, Product Development, Marketing, Client Segment Management, and Technology to ensure strategic alignment and execution on priorities.

  • Coordinate activities related to the Company Fundamentals product offering and its enablement to all delivery channels (Feeds, API, Cloud, Desktop)

  • Work closely with our clients to understand their needs, the competition and articulate the value proposition of our products

  • Build relationships across Content and Technology to ensure maximum client value is being delivered

  • Manage the business requirements for all existing product processes and new ideas that will start in the future

  • Participate in regular product and dataset reviews to fully engage other internal groups around the offering.

  • Creation and monitoring of relevant KPI’s to demonstrate accuracy and rigor of the product offering (timeliness, coverage, frequency)

  • Support and influence strategic road maps for new and existing content within the Company Fundamentals offering and work collaboratively with the additional business and product teams across S&P Global to identify new or expanded content and analytics

  • Provide thought leadership exemplifying use cases and unique insights

  • Monitor Marketplace tiles for accuracy of content and visualizations that best reflect the underlying dataset

  • Execute technology initiatives with the IT organization by providing functional requirements and data analysis

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to US candidates)

S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $91,318 to $160,455. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.

In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.

What We’re Looking For:

Basic Required Qualifications:

  • In-depth knowledge of the financial industry, Regulatory initiatives, and competitive landscape

  • In-depth knowledge and hands-on expertise in defining enterprise data strategies, and successfully leading product management functions

  • Strong organizational management, business case development, and able to work across business teams to meet deadlines

  • Familiarity with advanced/predictive analytics, and data-centric technologies desired

  • Knowledge and experience working with structured data and data repositories used for data mining and innovation analysis

  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of product quality and data management

Additional Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least 3 years of product experience including enterprise-wide data initiatives and working with datasets in the financial services industry

  • Proven ability to work with and motivate global teams in a diverse and complex organization to deliver quality results on time

  • Demonstrable experience resolving complex operational problems requiring strategic and innovative solutions

  • Extensive experience developing financial market data services products from concept to commercialization

  • Exceptional ability to work in an international multi-cultural environment utilizing effective influencing, negotiation, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Strong public speaking skills and the ability to interact with people at all levels within an organization internally and externally

  • A highly motivated self-starter. Ability to work independently and creatively as well as within a team

  • Excellent networking skills are required to obtain market information necessary to anticipate customer needs and interpret the trends that are evolving in the markets S&P Global serves.

  • Knowledge and experience in SQL preferred.
