The Role

Data is a key ingredient to all of Quantium’s products and services and the Data Analyst is pivotal in ensuring that data assets are received, processed, stored and protected successfully on a regular basis and are ready for use. Working with leading global financial services companies, you will have exposure to extremely large data-sets, supporting a product that uses advanced machine-learning techniques and solving problems with a wide array of tools in a production level environment. The types of challenges you will face on a day to day / week to week basis include:

• Enhancing and maintaining existing data operational processes, including ETLs, to meet changing business needs and to improve overall performance 
• Working with internal business stakeholders including the product team, analysts, projects, engineering, data management and external clients and data partners to support regular processing and availability of data assets
• Ensuring that data assets are managed and protected on a daily operational basis, that key issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner to minimise business and customer impact

Preferably you will be based close to one of our US hubs including San Francisco, Chicago, Washington DC, New York or Bentonville.

About you

You will thrive in this role if you enjoy being detail and process oriented and have are passionate about client service, stability and quality. On your first day, we are looking for you to add the following skills and experience to the team:

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Maths, Physics, Engineering or Statistics
• 1-2 years working experience working in a data driven operational environment
• Experience with scripting languages and the design and implementation of large ETL

What you will learn

• PySpark and Scala
• Cutting edge tooling, platforms and approaches (on prem and cloud); We use, but are not limited to, all 3 major clouds (GCP, AWS, Azure), Snowflake, Databricks, Spark, Kubernetes, Hadoop, etc
• Problem solving and issue management experience under service level delivery conditions
