Senior Data Engineer

The Senior Data Engineer being part of the Data Engineering (DE) Team at Picsart is responsible for developing data pipelines and models, taking care of automation and quality of the underlying data. The individual will be responsible for both data pipelines development and data transformation within the Self Service internal platform. Work with multiple business stakeholders to design the correct data solution for the best data-driven culture, also with technical teams inside DI group for designing and synchronizing solutions on top of Picsart data infrastructure. Exhibit leadership in building data solutions, helping business be on the best direction of using data, helping team members in his/her area.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver data pipelines leveraging streaming and batch platforms
• Participate in companies data modeling initiatives for the key data marts, define principles and frameworks to follow for the rest of the team
• Ensure best practices are followed for data warehouse design, dbt and Airflow
• Ensure quality control is maintained in the data warehouse
• Performance tuning of Spark workloads, weak points identification and resolution
• Work closely with all the other teams to align on teams priorities and dependencies
• Willingness to adapt to technology shift, be in a fast moving architectural environment
• Support migration and development of the ETL system
• Cooperate with business teams and shape business requirements for data lake

Key Skills:

• Hands on experience in ETL pipelines development, support of multi-layer data pipelines
• Hands on experience with dbt or any other data transformation tools
• Hands on experience with SQL and Python
• Hands on experience with Airflow
• Hands on experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• Experience with Spark (Scala, Python, SQL), structured streaming, and Delta Lake
• Experience with Looker or other BI tools
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum delivery model and multi-location teams
• Experience with Kafka or other streaming platforms is a plus
• Experience with Databricks is a plus
• Experience with Kubernetes is a plus
• Experience with Atlan or any other data governance tools is a plus
• Strong team work skills
