Analytics Engineer, Product Intelligence

Data and analysis help guide our business at Insider, Inc., allowing teams to make informed decisions about how to deliver stories to our readers as quickly and effectively as possible. We’re looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Product Intelligence and help us ensure that we’re building and improving our products based on the actionable data and insights we collect from our audience and applications.

What you will do

• Translate business reporting needs into technical requirements by collaborating with data engineering, data products and data science teams
• Work closely with analytics teams to turn metrics into compelling dashboards and visualizations
• Identify and deploy new data pipelines in support of business objectives
• Advocate for the innovation and adoption of new data products
• Own implementation and data integrity for Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and other site tracking tools
• Advocate for the consistent use of data with analysts across the business in our editorial, subscriptions, commerce and ad revenue teams
• Support the maintenance of data pipelines within existing data warehouses

Who we are looking for

• Self-directed, insatiably curious and fast paced
• Knowledge of database management and data warehousing techniques for large datasets
• Experience with Snowflake strongly preferred
• Expert level skills in SQL and python
• Strong attention to detail
• Experience with Github or Gitlab
• Strong background in statistical techniques and creative problem solving
• Experience with BI tools (Looker, DataStudio, Tableau etc.)
• Deep knowledge of Google Analytics and Google Tag manager
• Ability to communicate effectively with a variety of stakeholders about complicated data topics
• Strong organizational and project management skills
• An advocate for our readers, clients and employees
• Pragmatic and down to earth
• A good egg

Salary - $120-$140K +Bonus 

Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience and may fall outside of the range shown.
