SENIOR SITE RELIABILITY ENGINEER (BIG DATA)- KOCHI

ABOUT THE ROLE
Nielsen Marketing Effectiveness uses cutting edge technology and industry-leading data science to tackle some of the hardest problems in marketing science. We empower advertisers, publishers, and agencies with the intelligence they need to drive revenue, increase market share, and optimize their audiences and investments.
As a member of our Site Reliability Engineering Team, you will build a Reliable, Secure & Scalable Cloud & On-Premise Infrastructure that will run Big Data Workflow and Client Facing Applications. With their expertise and experience in building out Cloud and Data Center leveraging Infrastructure as Code, you will be closely working with projects during the Development and Operational phases.

ROLE DETAILS

• Build and operate Big Data Systems and Processes that include Hadoop and Yellow Brick
• Build and operate DB Systems like PostgreSQL, DynamoDB
• Set up and document operational procedures (maintenance, user administration, etc)
• specific to the operation of the Big Data Systems and Databases in a shared application
• environment.
• Provide technical guidance to the Information Systems team in the investigation, analysis
• and resolution of database problems.
• Provide security configuration and setup recommendations. Work with Security Experts to
• address vulnerabilities and security concerns.
• Strong knowledge in relational databases, Database development using SQL, Shell scripts
• or Perl
• Deploying and maintaining infrastructure as code / containerised infrastructure
• Contribute to the migration of traditional Infrastructure assets to Infrastructure as code
• Support the release flow from development to production. Manage environments using
• CI/CD tools and methodologies.
• Participate in On-call support. Provide first line technical support of multiple production
• and non-production environments. Assist in ensuring global availability of all services.
• Provide leadership / Mentorship for junior SRE

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• Bachelor / Masters in Engineering
• 8-12 years Managing Big Data Systems, Cloud & Product deployment
• Exposure to Hadoop, MySQL, Postgres, AWS, Docker / Kubernetes, Shell Scripting, Python,
• Chef / Puppet / Ansible, CloudFormation / Terraform,
• Excellent communication skills.
