Position Summary

Adept is building our own large-scale models to support our mission of creating useful general intelligence. Building these large-scale models requires performant data infrastructure to create and store the datasets used in all of our training runs. This job will involve building systems in-house, and utilizing cloud providers’ technology to create reliable data infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Design & build performant infrastructure to manage and leverage large-scale datasets for our model training
• Scale data acquisition systems to improve their throughput and reliability
• Balance system performance with infrastructure costs to optimize for company value
• Partner with engineers and research scientists to facilitate progress for both research and product development

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
• Expertise managing infrastructure storing petabytes of data for machine learning applications
• Experience in leveraging Spark and other tools to build large-scale datasets
• A high level of end-to-end ownership and self-direction
• The ability to move fast and learn by doing new things

The pay range for this position in California is $175,000- $350,000yr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
