Data Engineer (Remote)

Capital Technology Group is seeking a smart, talented, self-motivated, and experienced software developer to join our team to support data engineering efforts. The ideal candidate has experience developing data pipelines; a solid understanding of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms; can get up to speed quickly on and contribute to new software development projects; a strong understanding of databases; has experience with a variety of AWS cloud technologies; enjoys the challenge of solving complex problems in a fast-paced environment.

In this role, the data engineering professional will support client projects by:

• Contributing to the development of enterprise data pipelines
• Analyzing business requirements and proposing technical solutions
• Creating rapid prototypes to implement proposed solutions

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with relational databases, SQL, and ETL/ELT development
• 3+ years of AWS cloud experience, with relevant solutions (e.g. S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, SageMaker etc.)
• Experience with messaging technologies such as Apache Kafka, Amazon Kinesis
• Excellent Python Skills
• Experience with Pandas, Spark, or other Dataframe based programming libraries
• Familiarity with Databricks
• Familiarity with data observability tools
• Strong data modeling and reasoning skills
• Strong communication skills
• BA/BS in computer science, data science, engineering, statistics, or related fields
